I'm not really doing anything differently except for doing sets with higher reps (because I'm getting more conditioned). The food has been the same or less in recent weeks, but I did admittedly eat a bit more in late Jan/early Feb before I dialed it back. I think my body is just showing its appreciation for finally working out again after a year off, and roughly 3-4 years of scarce gym work.
