Parents Forced To Look For New Family Doctors After Refusing Vaccinations For Their Children

in #health7 years ago (edited)

It's that time of year again that families are getting ready for their kids to go back to school and along with that comes the advertised reminder for children to get vaccinated beforehand.

For some doctors in the US who are sticking firmly to the suggested vaccination policies though, it's forcing parents to have to make some new changes and go looking for a new family doctor for their loved ones.

In Kansas for example, some doctors there have told parents that if they refuse any of the required vaccinations that they will not be allowed to remain a patient with them. Doctors say that they have seen an increase in recent years of parents opting to say no to vaccines for their children and they say that is why they are now taking these drastic measures.

Some doctors are sticking to a strict vaccination policy and that includes all of the recommended vaccinations by the CDC.

For the patients and families who aren't going to be bullied in such a manner, into making a choice for their child's body that they don't want to make, they are now looking for new pediatricians.

The doctors say that their only interest is in protecting the children and they are willing to lose patients in order to take this stand in an effort to try and persuade parents to take every and any vaccination that is suggested by the CDC. The doctors say that they aren't forcing vaccinations, they are simply allowing parents to make the choice whether or not to stay with them and if they choose not to vaccinate then they choose to go elsewhere.

One common issue that you find with those who push for any and every CDC-suggested vaccination is that they assume those who don't want any and every vaccination are only making that choice because they are ignorant in the matter. But in many cases that couldn't be further from the truth, there are many parents out there who are very passionate about spending countless hours researching this topic because they want to try and make the most informed decision for their loved one. And it isn't only a couple of silly celebrities who have questioned vaccinations either, there are thousands of doctors and nurses out there who have taken a stance against them in some form or another as well.

When it comes to the vaccine topic, you'll find that there are some people who are for all vaccinations, some who are only for some vaccinations, others who are against all, and others who are against only some. It gets into a heated argument though when those who are for want to force their will onto those who are against. And they feel justified in doing this because they see their force as a preventative measure to try and save lives. For many parents though, that fear or line of reasoning, isn't enough in their eyes to warrant such a violation. For those parents, they either want to make the decision themselves, or they want to make it with the help from their family doctor, and they don't want to be pressured by some government agency to adhere to their vaccination requirements.

Thanks for the good artice, I think you should get vaccinated if you are 100% sure that that vaccine is safe for you :)

thanks for your comments and checking out the post :)

Go to the CDC's website and look at the ingredients list. It's disturbing!!
Free country my ass!! In order to go to school you have to pump a bunch of junk into your kids. Unless you get a form signed by a "Dr"
Thanks for the good read and info. Keep it up!!

Thank you for your comment

Medical tyranny. The medical community is full of arrogance and pride. They have a god complex syndrome (thanks pharmaceutical companies)

Faulting the doctors' actions is a hard argument for a voluntarist to make. From a voluntarist perspective, a doctor cannot be forced to provide their services.

i don't know if fault is the word i'd go with.. maybe just a dick move? 😆 If a business owner wants to refuse service to someone for whatever reason, that should be their right, but others can still see that action as a dick move lol😊 👍

How is a dick-move different to a fault?

Being a dick doesn't mean he nec violated any contractual arrangement. Just because you endorse voluntary exchanges doesn't mean you cannot have an opinion about human action. For example, you have the free speech to say what you want but if someone calls you an asshole, are they at fault? ..well, no—fault of what, really? But might some people think it's a dick move to just call someone an asshole? Maybe.

Doctors refuse service all of the time for different reasons, whether patients be drug seeking they think, or too vulgar or stressful and cause problems for them, it just sucks for the family who might have built up a rapport with that doctor over many years only to have that doctor say adios because they won't get a chickenpox vaccine or something. If they truly care about the welfare of that child then you'd think they'd even more so want to be involved in the healthcare, but I can understand their stance in taking the position that they do.

That explains it, thanks. So dick-move carries no moral status - just some kind of public opinion thingy that we can ignore.

you can ignore whatever floats your boat lol👍 for those who are business owners in the market though, they probably wouldn't want to ignore all feedback from the public :) whether or not that feedback be based on a violation of property rights. 😊

If your family doctor has no ear for your concerns, you have the wrong family doctor, I would say. Good riddance!

Good. These anti-vaccination loonies are not only endangering their own children but they're endangering other kids as well.

If vaccines worked it should not matter if someone chooses not to vaccinate.

Good article. But I don't think all vaccination are necessary. Some are good some are not necessary sometime they are more harmful. Just my humble opinion.

Great informative post thank you

almost all places where vaccine rejection occurs. Including in my area of residence. thank you for sharing this great information

Well done AND well written DiV...

Going to mention this Post to Canadian-Coconut in a few minutes, I think she will really like it.

Have a Great Weekend !!

Cheers !!

That's just crazy. See these doctors are signing on with these big executive pharmaceutical companies and protecting they funding. It's sad that this is what it has come to in society. What happen to the ability to make a decision from a selection of choices. Although it's frustrating, is like to thank you for sharing imthis with us.

I don't think that it is right for doctors to force parents into vaccinating their children. There is a lot of controversy around the topic and I think we are better off giving parents a choice. Personally, I'm for vaccines as I believe they do more good than harm but I may just be delusional

Yeah, sure,,,,,,get those vaccines.
The government never lies to you.
The government only wants what is good for you.
The government only has your best interest at heart.

OMFG people, don't be one of those people. Think for yourselves.

And btw, if you couldn't tell, the government stuff above is sarcasm.

Excellent post brother as always. But I think vaccination is very necessary. Although in some occasions they hurt .. It is my opinion a greeting @joserc.vzla

This is very real, I worked for a pediatric hospital and they would refuse to see children that were not vaccinated unless it was at the emergency room. It's pretty sad the herd mentality going on in the world today.

Great information, thank you. One of the best ways to deal with this kind of quackery is utilizing a "conditional acceptance". I will accept that you vaccinate my child upon your agreement that you will be held held both professionally and privately liable for any injuries caused. Tacit contract: otherwise you agree to my terms... (nail them down in terms of your choice)

This has been a debate for ages. Why is it so difficult to understand that the vaccines help to prevent disease and they are safer than ever. We did not have the technology we have today , yet we successfully eradicated small pox. The risk imposed by missing a vaccine is great and cannot be ignored. Vaccines are like seat belts of car. Just because you think you are not going to have an accident or the belt is uncomfortable - it would be a stupidity to not to wear it. One day , it may save your life.

when it comes to the many nurses and doctors who are against a blind-administration of any and every CDC-recommended vaccine, I don't think ignorance is the issue...at least not in every case.

True. But I have been through this situation. There is so much to monitor doctors and the care givers - for their wrong doings but not so much to monitor between what happens from the time the drug leaves the factory to the time it is loaded to the delivery device. In between, it is a matter of trust - which not everybody is worthy of. I understand you are talking about the state in the developed world, but much of what i am sharing is experiencing is from the developing part of the world.

After researching vaccines a lot I have found that most vaccines are fairly safe as a lot of the risk of disease out weighs the risk of the vaccine however I also feel it's safer to do vaccines for children at a later age and only one at a time with a grace period to watch for side effects .
Another major concern I have is some of the ingredients as we know some are a neurotoxins and some are biological agents from other living bodies such as humans and monkeys , this is why I haven't given my daughter the chicken pox vaccine because 20 year old's are now getting shingles .

Thanks for the informative post.
