I was feeling pretty sick on Sunday and it felt different from the usual viruses and colds I’ve had over the past two years. Two rapid tests later and, yup, suspicions confirmed. It turns out I have a mild case of Covid. Thankfully I’m fully vaccinated along with a booster and while my symptoms aren’t fun, they’re manageable, and I understand they could've been a lot worse.
But here is where it gets complicated. So far, my wife and daughter are testing negative. So it’s been an odd week as I’ve been quarantined in my office as they pass food and supplies in for me through a slightly cracked open door. My wife, Naomi, is vaccinated but our daughter is still too young so this isolation within my own home is difficult but necessary for her safety.
I’ve been extremely careful over the past two years but in the back of my mind, I knew that it would just be a matter of time before I caught Covid. Be safe out there everyone. Even though the cases have the potential to be mild, it still sucks to have and it keeps you away from family and friends while you’re in quarantine.
So while I’m literally stuck in my office for a week, are there any books that should be on my radar? Or any must-play Playstation games?
Hey Eliah, nice to see you around on Hive. And sad to hear about your positive test. Hope you get well soon and the symptoms stay mild. Currently I think there's no way around getting it sooner or later. Good thing, with the vaccinations and now conducting it you then count as super-immune for some time - at least this is a term I heard in some studies ;-)

With the Covid, my 7-year-old had it and we, parents, were testing negative. It is possible, apparently 🙂 Although, I could tell my body was fighting something.
Thanks! And yeah, I'm hearing a lot of stories of some family members positive and negative at the same time.
