I busted my hand. It got swollen and super tender real quick. I couldn't move my fingers very well or make a fist.
No big deal, I know just what to do! I walked out into the yard and picked some comfrey. This beauty is one of my all-time favorite plants for her AMAZING healing properties!
Comfrey is also called Knitbone because it can heal broken bones and various traumas, obviously just what I needed in this situation. I picked 2 leaves and mashed them in a mortar and pestle.
I added a splash of filtered water to make a nice goop.
Then I schmeared it on my hand.
I covered it with a bandage so it would stay put and I wouldn't fling plant matter around.
Comfrey feels soothing right away, which is no surprise because it's a powerful anti-inflammatory. The pain immediately diminshed, and look at the difference in my hand after only 4 HOURS!!! Swelling reduced significantly, and I could move my fingers and close my hand again - no doctors, hospitals, or pharmaceuticals needed. ππΌ
Comfrey is AWESOME!!! It pops right up out of the dirt for free, and if you ever need it you will be thrilled to have it.
Look at this other stuff it's good for:
COMFREY!!!

Thanks to @quinneaker & the @gardenofeden for teaching me about the plants and sharing the bounties of your land.
Nature is really amazing. It is our medicine chest--all natural in sustainable fashion!! Comfrey really does work that well. We have used it dozens and dozens of times in many situations for many things, even while traveling in Europe. The benefits are really underestimated. What a godsend is this plant. As are you @saramiller. Thank you for sharing!
Thank YOU @everlove! So glad you grow this in the @gardenofeden and are so generous to share the wealth. What a miracle!!

Yes that is me in the picture. I do not know for sure if the bone was broken because I did not go to the doctor and get x-rays, but the photos speak for themselves :)
The leaves of the plant are incredible. Thank you for letting us know about the great benefits of this plant leaf. Good luck always for you @saramiller.

Seriously never seen a plant that can have such quick effect, it's really amazing, comfry right? It's there a botanical name?
Yes, comfrey is called Symphytum officinale
Wow!!!! Great to know.
Resteemed cause thus is good knowledge!!!
Thanks for this
Thanks for the resteem!
Itβs a pleasure! Great knowledge you have!
Thanks for sharing this. Comfrey is another wonderful plant ally who gets a bad rep in this country. Itβs almost as if cheap, natural, healing herbs are the enemy here. Good information like this is suppressed and we are taught to fear them.
Iβm glad I read this today because Iβve been dealing with a pain for five days now. Youβve reminded me that I know some natural remedies for this. Iβm going to pick up some arnica and/or cannabis to use topically.
Unfortunately cheap, natural, healing herbs are a threat to the system in power here and they are treated as enemies. It's up to people to reconnect to their roots and remember ancient wisdom!
YES blessings to your natural healing! Arnica and cannabis are a few more of my favorite herbs. Super powerful plants FTW!
Sad but true. Living our best, healthy lives is a threat to power and capitalism. I am inspired by you and the Edenites (is it okay to call y'all that?) because you are consciously living your best lives and working for the good of your community. It takes something to be able to do that.
Thanks for replying to my comment. I see that you get many and I appreciate you taking the time.
Es un excelente tips, que sirve muy bien como recurso de emergencia para desinflamar y quitar el dolor, al menos minimizarlo.

Beautiful post!
What a powerful plant! Didn't know it.
Will research some more about it, thanks! :)

Haha I'm already planning to grow it :)
Remarkable. Thanks for sharing. Really resteem worthy and one of the best piece of edification. I've received today! Thank you @saramiller
I'm so glad to hear that - comfrey is truly incredible! More people deserve to know about such an amazing plant!!
One of your tags should be miracles of nature! ;)
#Truth #miraclesofnature! :))))
Hello friend and good that you are much better thanks to this healing plant, it is very good and effective. Excellent content.Greetings
Thank you @yosicrespo <3
To your order, honey, I invite you to go through my blog so that you can support me in my last content a little contest, greetings.
Oh wow!! I'm learning so much from you guys, this is an AMAZING post and so cool to see it in action. Now how in the world did you bust up that pretty hand???
Agreed, comfrey is INCREDIBLE!!! Almost unbelievable what it can do, and so quickly!!!
I did this awhile ago and have just now gotten around to making the post :)
We were moving some heavy boards, and I tripped and dropped the whole stack of weight on my hand at the same time I smashed it on the ground.
Outch, you're a prodigy, never heard of knitbone and that you grow it in your backyard tells me you didn't break a bone for the first time! Won't you put your hand in splints? Aren't you afraid that the broken bone grows back crooked?
Hahaha, yes I used to be quite prone to accidents! Thankfully I seem to have outgrown that phase. This was actually an old injury, but I waited a long time to make the post. No, I wasn't afraid of how the wound would heal because I know how awesome and effective comfrey is, and no I didn't put it in splints because comfrey works amazingly fast - like mere DAYS vs. weeks or months!
I have a friend who broke her arm, and we gave her a comfrey tincture from our land. Her doctor was so alarmed by how fast she was healing that he actually gave her pharmaceuticals to slow down the healing! Western medicine is crazy!!!
Wow that sounds really unbelievable! I'm not a big believer in western medicine, but why on earth would he want to slow down the healing, to prove his dogmatic point that he can cause an effect, even if it's not helping? That reminds me of an article where a woman changed her diet and she started to feel better and better and a doctor said that feeling healthy does not mean that she does something healthy π€¦ββοΈ
Super interesting! I have read about comfrey before but never actually thought about growing it myself. Does it need full sun?
I likes full sun but will do fine in partial shade too.
In german we call it "Beinwell", what means "good bone". In the old days, the most farmers had some of them in their gardens. For accidents like yours.
And you also can eat him like spinach. Is very good.
YES so glad to hear you're already familiar with this amazing plant!!
Amazing I never knew this thanks for sharing π―π
You're welcome, I hope it helps you!
I sure it will one day! π―π
Wow that's a huge difference! So awesome that nature provides
Amazing isn't it?!?! It's almost like nature wants to mother us or something :)
Nature is beautiful. Just a leave heal the swelling .must get comfrey too
Thanks much
You're welcome!
Oh my god that's EXACTLY what my Nana used to do. She was German and had so many tricks like that, except I was young and never used to listen to her. I grow it in my garden and can NEVER understand why people don't make more use of it. Have you ever eaten comfrey fritters? Mine's about to die off for the season so I'm making a big fertiliser out of the leaves. It's seriously one of the most beneficial plants of the garden. @mountainjewel , do you grow it? I'm like obsessed with making sure everyone has this in their garden, people think I'm a comfrey pusher.
Hahaha, I'm totally a comfrey pusher too!!! It's one of the most miraculous plants I know, and I love it so so much!!! No I haven't had comfrey fritters, but you make an excellent point about comfrey fertilizer - in addition to its awesome healing powers, it is SO healthy for the garden! Thanks for the input @riverflows :)

Remarkable herbal remedy is very good for bone care If I may know whether the Latin name leaves. Only grow in your country. That's a big benefit to health.
Comfrey is of the genus Symphytum. It grows in North America, Europe, and Russia...probably other places too, but I'm not sure.
Awww luverbutt! Your hand looks like someone blew into a doctor's glove and tied it off!
I'm intrigued about this plant- can you ingest it? Make it tea? What are the methods of use for the list of issues you put up there? I love learning about this stuff! Thank you! Will you please tag me whenever you post about these natural remedies?? @saramiller
