First Day of Fasting

in #health7 years ago

I'm finishing up my first day of fasting. My intent is to engage autophagy (which I've learned about recently) and allow my body to cycle through some unnecessary cells.
Fasting is new to me, but it was surprisingly easy for the first day! I have a mix of headache/euphoric feeling as the day is ending, but my stomach/hunger hasn't been too bad. Mostly just curbing the regular food-consumption mentally has been the challenge.
One of the main reasons I decided to do this is because I was eating a lot (I'm not overweight) and my hunger wasn't satisfied even if full. So, I figure going without for a bit will help me appreciate the good I do have and introduce some necessary mental/physical balance.
For my first fast, I'm just doing the one day, and I'll be eating again in the AM (works out to two one day), but I'm thinking about doing a three day one in the not-too-distant future.
Conclusion: Success! I'd recommend taking a day off eating for anyone who is well-fed but not appreciating their food and still feeling hungry.

Sort:

In my religion "ISLAM", within a year we are MUST do fasting one month in ramadan , not eat not drink, not make love with our wife. from dawn to sunset
and is recommended to fast sunna 2 times a week ie on Monday and Thursday.
and additional on certain days of the day on other days of the year.

Fasting not only nourishes the body but also keeps our hearts in order to empathize with the poor.

Nice share, I resteem and upvote this post.
