I didn't label the "milestones" our kids entered either. They never went through the so called terrible twos....and 2/3 of them were pretty good through their teenage years. Typical testing periods and what not. But I always had expectations for them to be adults in training.
I also didn't expect that once they turned 18 they were on their own and still can't figure out the mindset on that....they are 17 one day they at midnight you have no more say in their lives? Makes no sense.
Parenting isn't cut and dried like that. You are a parent until they can fly....but you'll always be a mother or father.
So true. Each child is different even though the values we instill are consistent.
