A look at my local Medieval church.

Sefton Parish

Today i thought i would get my camera out and take some pictures of my local church. This church is very old, so old infact that it is the only Grade I listed building in the entire Borough of Sefton (the area i live). The land the church sits on has been used as a place of worship since 1170 but due to the distinctive oval shape of the churchyard, some people think it may have been used as a Saxon burial ground before then, but this is not certain.

My pictures from today

I am still new to doing this, but i am enjoying it a lot and have attempted to create a little visual tour of the place by going around in a circle, hope you enjoy it.

I took so many pictures today i could not possibly fit them all into one post, so i am planning on creating another post or two containing other interesting pictures of the church grounds i took such as very old gravestones and some old graffiti i found scribbled on the church walls and doors so please keep an eye out for those if you enjoyed my pictures.

Really dope brother! Enjoyed looking at the picture, and love how you took a picture from the same angle that the artist drew it before. Really nice.

hay James,
i will try to get more shots from around uk and do a couple of comparison old and new shots.

This is beautiful :) I love the comparison to the original image... lovely church, the old buildings are really amazing. I would love to go back in time
To when we didn’t have all of the modern buildings everywhere and see what it would have been like :)

Thanks for checking it out.
