There's a particular curry dish I've grown to love over the years—the one from Toast Box that I crave every now and then. Tonight happens to be one of those times. It’s one of those moments when I have no idea what to eat, and during times like these, I usually go for fast food. But I didn’t feel like eating something unhealthy tonight, so I thought about the dish I enjoy at Toast Box.
One of my favorite items on their menu is the Curry Chicken with rice set!
Toast Box puts in consistent effort to ensure that the taste of their food remains the same across all their branches. And the Curry Chicken is the one dish that has remained my favorite over the years. I find it uniquely creamy, with just the right level of spice for my taste.
And whenever I visit any of their branches, I always make sure to order as much as I can eat. So tonight, I went for the set version of the Curry Chicken.
Along with the curry and rice, I got myself a cup of warm barley and a slice of banana cake. I felt that the drink and cake were simple enough not to overpower the taste of the curry.
There’s something I do that makes this dish even more enjoyable to eat. I mash the potato into the rice and pour some curry over it. It turns into a soft, flavorful mix, but I swear it’s so much more satisfying than eating the rice and potato separately.
And then, of course, there’s the part I always enjoy—the sweet treat. Well, it’s not overly sweet; it’s banana cake!
It’s so aromatic that the distinct banana scent lingers on my tongue. I love it, and it even makes my breath smell nice after the rich, bold flavors of the curry.
But to be honest, it’s a little dry—but that’s okay because the warm barley drink pairs perfectly with it!
Overall, this meal was both satisfying and comforting, hitting just the right balance of flavors and textures. The creamy curry, soft rice, and sweet banana cake made for a delightful combination, especially with the warm barley drink to tie it all together. It’s always a treat to revisit familiar flavors, and Toast Box never fails to deliver that comforting experience.
