Si hay algo que siempre he disfrutado es de la comida y bien sea en casa o fuera de ella para mi comer siempre es un buen plan para todo. Siempre he querido poder visitar diferentes lugares y probar su comida pero mientras estuve en Venezuela eso era algo que solo podía llevar a cabo si lo ganaba en un concurso (lo cual hice muchísimo). Gracias a los concursos de instagram pude visitar muchos lugares de mi ciudad y probar su comida pero ahora que estoy en Brasil las cosas han cambiado, los concursos ya no son lo mío pero ahora tengo la oportunidad de poder disfrutar de la comida por mis propios medios y eso es aun mejor.
Desde que llegamos a Brasil hemos sabido por varias personas que el churrasco de aquí es muy bueno, por lo que era una idea que teníamos en mente, visitar una churrasqueria para comprobarlo nosotros mismos y no fue si no hasta el fin de semana pasado que llevamos a cabo este plan. La idea era salir a un lugar a comer churrasco y como no teníamos idea de ningún lugar hicimos nuestra propia búsqueda por Internet y para nuestra sorpresa conseguimos algunas opciones realmente cerca de casa, solo fue cuestión de elegir uno de esos lugares para finalmente ir. Aprovechando que el pasado domingo lo teníamos libre decidimos salir a cenar el sábado por la noche, y luego de ver el horario de este lugar al que iríamos establecimos nuestra hora de salida a las 7:30 pm.
El nombre de este lugar es Costelão Rotatória y está ubicado en la zona de Santa Cândida en la ciudad de Curitiba y es tan cerca de nuestra casa que solo fueron 3 minutos de viaje en Uber. No se trata en si de una churrasqueria como tal ni tampoco de un restaurante, pues, este era más bien un bufet libre pero de churrasco.
If there is something that I have always enjoyed it is food and whether at home or away from home, for me eating is always a good plan for everything. I have always wanted to be able to visit different places and try their food but while I was in Venezuela that was something that I could only do if I won a contest (which I did a lot). Thanks to Instagram contests I was able to visit many places in my city and try their food but now that I am in Brazil things have changed, contests are no longer my thing but now I have the opportunity to enjoy food on my own and that is even better.
Since we arrived in Brazil we have heard from several people that the churrasco here is very good, so it was an idea that we had in mind, to visit a churrascaria to check it out for ourselves and it was not until last weekend that we carried out this plan. The idea was to go out to a place to eat churrasco and since we had no idea of any place we did our own search on the Internet and to our surprise we found some options really close to home, it was just a matter of choosing one of those places to finally go. Taking advantage of the fact that we had last Sunday free we decided to go out to dinner on Saturday night, and after seeing the schedule of this place we were going to we set our departure time at 7:30 pm.
The name of this place is Costelão Rotatória and it is located in the Santa Cândida area in the city of Curitiba and it is so close to our house that it was only a 3-minute Uber ride. It is not a steakhouse per se nor a restaurant, as this was more of an all-you-can-eat buffet but with churrasco.
El lugar es bastante sencillo pero muy acogedor, cuenta con un gran espacio con muchas mesas para sus clientes mientras que del otro lado se encontraba el bufet, sin embargo, el atendimiento fue completamente personalizado ya que no tuvimos que ir a servirnos nosotros mismos sino que fueron a atendernos directo en nuestra mesa.
The place is quite simple but very cozy, it has a large space with many tables for its customers while on the other side was the buffet, however, the service was completely personalized since we did not have to go and serve ourselves but they went to serve us directly at our table.
Entre las opciones de churrasco tenían pollo, costilla, chorizo y cerdo, de esta podíamos elegir 2 opciones por persona mientras que el acompañamiento era el mismo para ambos. Daniel eligió costilla y pollo mientras que yo me decidí por pollo y cerdo.
Among the steak options they had chicken, ribs, chorizo and pork, from which we could choose 2 options per person while the accompaniment was the same for both. Daniel chose ribs and chicken while I decided on chicken and pork.
La atención fue super rápida, apenas ordenamos y en 2 minutos ya teníamos todo en nuestra mesa. El acompañamiento de esa noche estuvo compuesto por una ración de ensalada de lechuga, tomate, zanahoria y cebolla, una ración de papas fritas y polenta frita, una ración de puré de papas, una ración de arroz y una ración de caraotas negras . Como bebida pedimos una coca cola de 1 litro, la cual nos sirvieron con hielo y limón. Además de eso teníamos la opción de repetir cualquiera de las opciones que nos ofrecieron sin ningún costo adicional.
The service was super fast, we barely ordered and in 2 minutes we already had everything on our table. The accompaniment that night consisted of a portion of lettuce, tomato, carrot and onion salad, a portion of French fries and fried polenta, a portion of mashed potatoes, a portion of rice and a portion of black beans. As a drink we ordered a 1 liter Coca Cola, which was served with ice and lemon. In addition to that we had the option of repeating any of the options they offered us at no additional cost.
Teniendo ya todo en nuestra mesa solo tuvimos que elegir que íbamos a comer y servir en nuestro plato. Por mi parte yo comí de todo un poco a excepción de las caraotas porque realmente no se me antojó y también sentí que no combinaba con el resto de la comida y si les parece raro ver este alimento como acompañamiento de esta comida les cuento que aquí en Curitiba (no se si en otras partes de Brasil también) comen mucha caraota y la acompañan con todo, de hecho he visto unas combinaciones muy extrañas con caraota pero que para ellos aquí es lo normal.
Once we had everything on our table, we just had to choose what we were going to eat and serve it on our plates. For my part, I ate a bit of everything except for the black beans because I didn't really fancy them and I also felt that they didn't go with the rest of the food. If it seems strange to you to see this food as an accompaniment to this meal, I tell you that here in Curitiba (I don't know if in other parts of Brazil too) they eat a lot of black beans and they accompany them with everything. In fact, I have seen some very strange combinations with black beans, but for them here it is normal.
La costilla estaba super suave y deliciosa, una pieza muy jugosa que disfrutamos mucho, el pollo y el cerdo también estaban muy buenos pero sin duda mi favorita fue la costilla.
The ribs were super soft and delicious, a very juicy piece that we enjoyed a lot, the chicken and pork were also very good but without a doubt my favorite was the ribs.
Me gustó mucho el puré de papas de este lugar, pues era muy muy cremoso y eso me encantó. Las papas fritas estaban crujientes y deliciosas, mientras que la polenta se sentía crujiente por fuera y muy suave por dentro. La polenta frita es otra cosa que consumen normalmente por aqui y que nos habían recomendado probar, esta fue nuestra primera vez haciéndolo y al menos a mi me gustó mucho.
I really liked the mashed potatoes here, they were very very creamy and I loved that. The fries were crispy and delicious, while the polenta felt crunchy on the outside and very soft on the inside. Fried polenta is another thing that they normally eat around here and that we had been recommended to try, this was our first time trying it and at least I liked it a lot.
El valor del bufet era de 35 reales por persona (5.7$) por lo que por ambos pagamos un total de 82 reales (13.54$) incluyendo la bebida, lo cual nos pareció un precio bastante accesible para todo lo que comimos y lo deliciosa que estaba la comida.
Este lugar nos gustó muchísimo, pues tiene para nosotros muchos puntos positivos, ya que queda muy cerca de casa, la comida es deliciosa y además económica y es un lugar perfecto para variar la rutina de comer siempre en casa. Realmente amamos este lugar y quedamos con ganas de volver en otro momento, el cual espero que sea pronto.
The buffet was 35 reais per person ($5.7) so we paid a total of 82 reais ($13.54) including drinks, which seemed like a pretty reasonable price for everything we ate and how delicious the food was.
We really liked this place because it has many positive points for us, since it is very close to home, the food is delicious and also cheap and it is a perfect place to change the routine of always eating at home. We really love this place and we look forward to coming back another time, which I hope will be soon.
