We received a "Saging na Saba" from Auntie Velyn yesterday when she visited us here in Poblacion. Actually, it is not just a banana but also a fresh lettuce and "patola" or sponge gourd. We used that two in our lunch today, but I couldn't take a photo of it because Mommy D made a really weird looking dish ( ꈍᴗꈍ). I mean, the combination is just... A bit off? Lol. I found it weird, but I ate it anyway, lol. All I can taste is the saltiness but not its flavor or whatever taste it is, so I can take it. Lol. Still, Mommy F likes it too, so I can say it doesn't taste weird, although it really looks weird. Lol.

But actually, let me just share it. Lol. Here it is, lol. It doesn't look that weird anymore because I already ate the last bit of lettuce and bottle gourd in it. I like the veggies because they are really fresh. Mom also mixed a leftover roasted chicken on it, that's why I think it tastes yummier. And this is just like a sautéed macaroni pasta with lettuce and bottle gourd. But if Mom added milk in it, it would turn into a creamy macaroni soup, but she didn't, milk is kinda expensive now, so... ╮(^▽^)╭

As for the saging na saba, here it is, not too ripe, just enough ripeness, which is the best when making a sinulbot na saging or sweetened banana. And by the way, it's Mommy D who prepared this because she doesn't like how I cook a sinulbot. Mine is really watery, while her version is really sticky. Not sure what the secret is, but maybe it's from the amount of sugar she put on it. I don't put much sugar into mine because I don't want it to be too sweet.

Look how sticky that sugar syrup is, it looks good, that's for sure. And the oldies enjoy it. I enjoy it too, but I didn't eat that much. This is one of the foods I should avoid because of this much sugar in it. I should not eat this, but I can't stop myself from eating it. It's actually been a long time since we last had a Sinulbot, so I kinda miss it. And I eat just a few pieces of it, I'm still in control, of course.

I only had this much (✿^‿^), heh. Lol.

And that's our yummy snack this afternoon. It's called Sinulbot or Sweetened Banana. Making this is actually quite easy. We are using this particular type of banana called Saba, but maybe you can use the other type of it. Then we'll just cut it into our desired size. A small or a bit bigger size is okay. Then open the stove and ready the pan, heat it. Get the sugar and put it into the hot pan and let it melt. Once all the sugar is melted, put water in it, together with the bananas. Let it boil until it is cooked. You can decide how long you want to cook it. And that's it. Really easy, no? I'm sure you can easily do it at home (◕ᴗ◕✿).
