For #TeleTuesday this week we have some Radiohead. This was in Total Guitar November 1997 and I probably learnt it from there. It is a tune I have played quite a lot. I have never tried to sing and play it, but have played along when someone else sang. A friend plays it finger-style, but I use a pick.
I made some effort to smile as @slobberchops thinks I look pissed off when I play. It is just that I am concentrating.

As usual I am playing through my Zoom G3X effects unit that has amplifier modelling. I have everything wired up so I can plug in and record. I use GUVC Viewer on Linux to record these as it is nice and simple.

One of the many reasons I like my guitar with the effects loop is that when I run it with only the regular mono output, the effects loop switch on the guitar essentially becomes a kill switch, and it can be very fun to mess around with.
In a few weeks I’ll have my white tele back and I will join you for tele tuesday. are there any other players on the hive doing it?
If you check out the Guitar Community you will see a couple of others doing posts. Always happy to have more. There's also Straturday, but I don't have a Strat. Of course any day is good to play guitar.

I must say that I haven't heard this song before, but it looks very fun yet hard to play.
That picking looks tricky and hard to keep up at that pace.
I know what you mean with the guitar face, I get those comments a lot too haha.
The song is actually called Street Spirit (Fade Out). The picking pattern is pretty constant. I find I can go on automatic to some extent once I learned it.
I just can't be concentrating on my expression and play, but I heard someone say that he practices in front of a mirror to encourage him to look ahead rather than down so he can engage with audiences. Actually performing is a skill in itself.

It shouldn't be too hard to add one. You can get smaller switches and the wiring is fairly simple.

It's a good picking exercise. Keeping that going for the whole song is hard.
At least you aren't sticking out your tongue the whole time. They say that a lot of people do that when they are concentrating really hard. Think Michael Jordan dunking. Who knows! Nice stuff. I need to dig into some more Radiohead myself. I think the only two songs I really know are Creep and Paranoid Android.
I used to listen to them a lot. Check out the album The Bends for some of their best work.
Okay, I will do that. I am thinking about digging into some Tin Machine today as well. I need to get out of my classical phase first though :)

Actually the effort of smiling was a distraction. I can play sort of on automatic, but the multi-tasking capability is limited.
