I just found a huge roach but it was too gross to take a picture of. Sadly I also found a dead mantis that was around 6 inches in length.

Oh no, poor fellow ! hmm .. It is a little bit yellowish. I once read in a post that they become yellowish if they are near to the end of their life circle.
I wish I could find a nice big green one to do a macro photoshoot. Poor things only live a few months.
