Hi there my Hivean friends and followers!
I am happy to come with another contribution for the Sports Talk Social community again after a while. In my today´s post, I would like to show you one of the workout spots where I exercise here in Krakow, Poland.
You might remember that I actually spend most of the time at this amazing outdoor gym where I do my lifts and presses (at least twice a week) and I just love it over there but that gym is unfortunately quite far from our current apartment so I also use other, closer workout spots sometimes. Let me now introduce you to one of them ;)
This one is a part of the WKS Wawel Sport Complex, a massive sport complex in the northwestern part of the city where you can find everything from tennis courts, football fields and basketball courts to numerous playgrounds for kids and several workout spots. Let me show you a few pictures...
Yep, that´s me in the last one, I put my legendary photo editing skills through their paces again with that yellow smiley :D My outfit is also the same as it was in my last workout update mentioned above except for the hoodie, the lifting has induced some remarkable bulking up so I had to buy a bigger hoodie :D
As you can see, this workout place is designed mostly for calisthenics as there are no free weights or classic press machines there but it´s ok with me. I go there like once a week and I think it´s actually good to add some basic calisthenic exercise to the lifting as it´s much more complex and thus perfect for strengthening the core and working multiple muscle groups at the same time, which is something you don´t usually get to experience with weights and classic machines. You get even a greater variety of exercises if you bring some resistance bands with you - I always do that.
I really like this place as it´s never crowded (I am actually the only person there very often) and it´s surrounded by trees, giving you this feeling of working out in nature, which is awesome. Right now, the trees are still barren after the winter but they are already sprouting and soon, it will be like working out in a forest :) Needless to say the place is open 24/7 and it´s free of charge. Definitely recommended!

Outdoor gyms are really cool like you said, working out in the open and breathing fresh air and having it around you is just a great feel. I read this post after watching a boxing match on YouTube between Andy Ruiz and Alexander Dimitrenko the match was held in the open at a stadium, Lennox Lewis who is a great boxer himself was commentating and he said a lot about boxing in the open air like that rather than within four walls. Great stuff.
Thanks for your valuable comment man! That´s cool, I actually didn´t know that boxing matches can take place outside, wow. But yeah, I can definitely relate to what Lewis said, everything is better outside in the fresh air rather than trapped inside within the walls :)
That looks like a nice playground for adults and it seems the weather is getting milder, just perfect for a nice workout in open air. It's way better than a gym, that's for sure.
I love the term playground for adults, very apt :) Yeah, I have always preferred outdoor workout to classic gyms. You are in the fresh air, can do what you and when you want, no crowds, no membership fees... I can see only benefits here :) Btw the weather is not so great anymore :D After solid two weeks of sunshine and temperatures around 20 C, it´s been freezing and snowing here from yesterday evening :D :/ Incredible change but that´s what April is famous for here in Central Europe. Right I remember that you shared a post in winter and I said no one would like to go :) However, it is the time to do outdoor sports. We have 22 °C today.

Well, we had similar temperatures until 2 days ago. Yesterday, a very cold front arrived so it´s freezing and snowing here again :D :/ But it should only last for a few more days. But you know I work out in every season and every weather, I had my training today too of course :) Rocky mode on! :D

This is awesome. I have seen on YouTube the outside gym in California. Its actually got all the weights, everything you need. I think you need to pay for a membership !

The machines might not be that cool and fancy but there are many of them and you don´t need to pay anything there :) Just come any time you want and start working out :)

It looks like a really cool outdoor gym! I hope it stays maintained that way as many of such places just get not used and are getting forgotten at some point :/
Hey, thanks for stopping by. I know what you mean but it´s not the case here in Krakow, the city takes a good care of all of these outdoor gyms and playgrounds ;)
For some reason these types of sites never host many people, it seems that everyone prefers to go to the gym or work out at home. Personally I think it's great, especially to exercise a little in the morning and take advantage of the cool breeze.
Well, here in Krakow, the "attendance" greatly depends on the weather. When it´s warm and sunny, the are quite a lot people using these places. Especially those closer to the city center. This one is actually a bit further away so this one is not crowded even during the most beautiful days ;) Thanks for checking out the post!
