9.5 years later ⌛️
I finally did it!
I officially have my first new car in nearly 10 years.
I've been posting a lot about my car troubles with the Audi A4 that I was driving. I have since called it quits on that car and decided to trade it for something else.
I ended up purchasing a 2013 Lincoln MKZ with the 3.7L and AWD
A huge thanks to my awesome salesman Todd Watson over at Moses in Saint Albans. Ask for him if you’re looking to buy a car anytime soon.
commenting on one of my posts to tell me that he had a Lincoln and loved it. I hadn't considered a Lincoln until he told me how awesome they are. He sure was right!I want to give a big shoutout to @intothewild for
I spent a few weeks browsing the local used cars online and I struggled to find anything that fit my strict criteria. That was until Monday night when I discovered the listing for a car that at the time I had no idea would soon be mine.
This was my first look at it...
As I mentioned before about having strict criteria, I somehow managed to check basically every single one of my boxes. Let me explain why this was the perfect car for me.
1.Low Mileage
Although this was a 2013 model, it somehow only had 52,568 miles on it. It was very well kept and had never been in an accident through its two owners in 10 years.
2.Stylish and Mod-Friendly
If you are a fan of chrome, then this thing is a dream come true. I really am not. I much prefer black accents on a car, but I wasn't going to let that stop me from getting this ride. It's not my favorite car on the road, but I do still think it is gorgeous. It's also not extremely mod-friendly, but I didn't really have big plans for it anyway. A change to the exhaust and wheels is about the only thing that I had in mind.
3.Four Doors
This is indeed a four-door sedan and very spacious.
4.AWD Drivetrain
This car came with the optional AWD system which means I will have a car that is ready to handle the snow. I just like how AWD cars handle, they really can hug turns and never lose traction at take-off.
5.Fun To Drive
This car has 300 hp, which is quite the jump from my 210 hp Audi. It's a 3.7L V6 engine and it's far from slow. It will throw you back into the seat if you want it to and acceleration is great. It handles like a dream too. The paddle shifters are something else new I'm hyped about. I love driving in sport mode and feeling like I have a little bit more control over when gear shifts happen in those instances.
6.Fair Price
This was listed at a fair market price, which is unusual these days. It had been on their lot for a few months and at this point, they just needed to get rid of it. It was right in the middle of my budget and I'm glad I saved some extra money so that I could afford to purchase an extended warranty.
7.Nearby or Cheap Delivery
It was located less than 20 minutes from my apartment. I had actually been over there to test drive an Infiniti a few weeks prior. I contacted a salesman named Todd Watson, he had given me his phone number from the last time I was there. I told him I saw this car for sale and wanted to come to look at it and most likely buy it the next day. He came in on his day off just to help me purchase it and I appreciate all of his hard work. He's a really cool dude and if you are ever at Moses in Saint Albans, WV be sure to ask for him.
8.Modern Tech
I have been totally mind-blown by all of the fancy new gadgets this car has. There are dozens of things it does that my older car did not. It was ahead of its time back in 2013 when it was released. The only thing it doesn't have is Apple Car Play, but that's okay because it does have Ford's Microsoft SYNC infotainment system and I've already grown to like it quite much.
9.Decent On Gas
I'm getting slightly less gas mileage than my Audi, but with all of this new power, that makes complete sense. I've been driving it slow when I do Instacart so that I don't burn extra gas. I will save the aggressive driving for fun trips on empty roads.
10.Plenty of Cargo Space
The Lincoln MKZ has just as much, if not more space than my Audi. The trunk is massive and the rear seats fold down for longer items that may not fit otherwise. There is even a button on my key fob that opens and closes the trunk for me.
It was time to say goodbye to my 2009 Audi A4 with Candy Teal VMR wheels. I loved this thing so much and it was great for many years. However, all good things come to an end and this car was on its last leg. Although I was still getting compliments on it regularly out in public, I felt it was best if we parted ways. It wasn't worth much due to CarFax's history and many issues with it. I only got $1000 out of it, but that allowed me to have a bit more wiggle room with financing the Lincoln.
It took about 3.5 hours at the dealership, but shortly after noon, I was on my way home. I was giddy as you could have probably assumed. I hadn't ever pictured myself driving a Lincoln, but I became thrilled as soon as I sat in it the first time after signing the paperwork.
It has black leather with woodgrain on the dash and various other places in the car. There are also some chrome accents and plenty of fancy buttons.
When the car is off, all of the console buttons disappear and it makes the interior look very minimalist. There are ample storage areas throughout the car. The front has more space than I even need. The fact that it doesn't have a traditional gear shifter and instead has buttons means that there is an opening under the center console to store large items. I also love that it has Ford's patented keypad system on the driver's side door. This means that if I ever lock the keys in the car, I will be able to unlock them with the code that I set. I could also send someone else to my car to grab something without having to give them my keys. It's a really cool feature and only Ford/Lincoln/Mercury has it.
In terms of the exterior styling, the ass is my favorite part about it. I love the light strip that goes from one side to the other. It has dual exhausts. Plus the badging is pretty cool too.
A feature I didn't even realize that the car had until a few days after owning it was ambient lighting. I have seen this in cars and always thought it was so freaking cool. I figured it was reserved only for newer cars, but the Lincoln MKZ came standard with it in 2013. There are 7 colors to choose from, but I currently have it set to blue.
Just look at how it glows at night, it's a total vibe.
The car has bluetooth, that means no need for an AUX cord anymore. My Audi didn't even have working speakers anymore, but this MKZ bumps and sounds great.
SYNC allows me to do everything with the car. Phone calls, GPS, AC control, music, and more. One unique feature I never would have guessed that it has is the ability to set a custom wallpaper. I used a USB stick to upload my Daltono design so I can always glance down and see that blue beauty.
I was given two key fobs when I bought the car. One of them was missing the silver cap on the end to attach to keychains. The other didn't work at all. I went a few days later to meet with Moses's key guy to fix my issue. He not only got my key working, but he also gave me a third key fob at no charge. These things usually cost several hundreds of dollars, so I lucked out big time there.
You may also notice that it has remote start. The other button is to open the trunk as I mentioned previously.
I've already been filling this thing with groceries. It's so nice to be able to get back into doing my Instacrt work. I enjoy it a lot, but having to take off due to car troubles was very stressful. I can finally rely on my car to help me get the job done for my customers.
My first full day out with it was the hardest rain we have had in a long time. There were floods in some places and I was getting soaked every time that I got out of the car. Thankfully it is leather inside, so getting the seats wet wasn't a problem.
I can say that it handles very nicely in the rain, even with high water. Something I totally am in love with about the car is the headlights. Not only does it have blue HIDs, but it also has cornering lights. If you've never heard of that before, let me explain. The cornering lamp function is activated when turning. Depending on the steering angle, the headlights swivel left or right. They illuminate the area to the side of your car, considerably increasing safety in the dark or while driving in poor lighting conditions. In short, the headlights can change their aim depending on if you are going straight or making a turn.
I'm in love with this car and it is exactly the type of car I was hoping to find. I'm beyond grateful for everybody on Hive who has helped me earn my stake. I was able to put $2,000 down on it which came directly out of my Hive wallet. I didn't want to spend it, but kind of had to at this moment.
Thanks for checking out my 2013 Lincoln MKZ!

Congrats again man! Damn, I think it even has some features my 13 MKT didn't have.
Have you tried the adaptive cruise control yet? So cool dude, it will break for you once someone slows down in front of you or cuts in your lane. Super nice for those long road trips. These cars were made for looonnnnggggg road trips. The heated AND cooled seats are so nice to have too! Auto start that baby and it's ready for ya when you get in. Super jealous man, I miss mine so much. Glad you enjoy it bud! I think you will for a long time.
I was astonished to discover it had so many cool features.
I haven’t tried the adaptive cruise control yet only because I haven’t driven long distance at all since I got it. I look forward to seeing how it works.
The lane keep assist works really well, I’m just so used to not relying on all of these assists.
I really appreciate ya man, I would have probably went with a more expensive Audi/Mercedes with less features and more miles if you hadn’t brought up Lincoln vehicles being so cool.
Like I said, Lincoln has really stepped up its game from being an old mans car to something us "young" kids would like to drive. Props to them, but their marketing needs some work clearly, because as you said, you didn't know and would have gone audi/benz without even taking a look at the Lincoln. It's a nice little secret for us, we can still get a good deal on them because no one knows........yet.
I’m okay with driving a car that doesn’t turn heads as much as European brands as long as it makes me happy.
That rear end looks lovvveeeelllyyy!! I also do fancy the colour... 3.7l you say it must be the same motor as the chryslers? I know they come in 6 cylinder 3.7l....doesn't matter though..
The inside! Urgghhh🤤🤤🤤 that one picture you took from the back seat! Looks like a frikkin cockpit of a jet broh fuck it looks gangster! I think it's a pretty decent trade in!!
Although seeing that one picture where you lean on the hood... Fuck that audi was stillll beautifull!! With those blue rims! She will be missed!
I'm telling ya now, it's a nice little booty on this thing. Red isn't my first choice, but it does stand out a lot more than black/silver/white. I'm sure it's either the same motor or very similar.
My ultra-wide angle lens on my iPhone allowed me to take that epic shot from the back seat. I really think that was the only way to properly show off the ambient lighting.
I'll never forget the Audi, it was such a great car. I definitely won't be putting candy teal wheels on this red lincoln, but maybe some black ones in the future.
Yeah I myself fancy the red it does look nice, but then again I fancy most colors 😂 the upside is that the red wont be as hot as the black or grey might get in the sun..
Yeahh no laugh please not with the red 😂 perhaps even a pearlish colour would be beautiful aswell but you've got to have a taste for it😂
I’m not sure what I will do with it, for now I’m happy with how it looks.
First many many congratulations dear for your new car. Its looks so beautiful and amazing and its features are cool. Here in Pakistan, whenever we go to buy a house, we must check that the vehicle has less than 100,000 kms. The way we were seeing that your old car was bothering you a lot so it was better to sell it and get the new car. And the way your job is, you have to deliver on time, so you had some trouble there because of the broken car. And the way you are saying that these speakers are very good when one goes on a long journey, that journey is cut comfortably while listening to songs. Its beauty is further enhanced by the blue light. Thanks for sharing the detail of your new car its helps me to increase my knowledge about cars.
My friend, you leave some great comments. Thank you. I wish I could take you for a ride in it, but sharing my blog is the next best thing.
Most welcome dear. I also wish to meet you one day. Because you are a very good person.
That would awesome!
❤️
Cool Car and Congratulations.
I miss AWD it's pretty sweeet handling all the time.
I love the cool ambient blue lighting, I never heard of tis as a standard feature.
Thanks for the ideas for my next car. I have a 2005 and I have been putting off selling it because of the high prices for used cars, but that seems to have improved, so I will start looking ...
Thanks! Most of my driving in 15 years has been in an AWD sedan. It’s great for many reasons outside of better in the winter. I like how it feels, but and AWD coupe would be fun too.
I’d highly recommend this car to somebody not looking to spend a ton. Finding one under 60k miles may be difficult though.
This is a very beautiful car..
I must say your criteria is strict..
Congratulations once more
Thanks, I agree with you on both points. I’m surprised I was actually able to find something that fit basically all of my needs, especially in such a short amount of time.
Nice that’s awesome dude! I know that lincoln is a solid car and they’ve changed their image over the years. I’m sure the car will treat you right! Not bad that the hive price improved quite a bit from the lows a few months ago to get you the extra needed funds for the purchase.
Enjoy the car dude!

Lincoln has evolved, but I don't think they have done the best job of promoting that idea. They need to get one of their cars in an action movie and make it look cool to younger people. Maybe some racing video games or something, idk what exactly. Better marketing would help though. I just know that I hadn't considered a Lincoln until I got lucky enough to find this one.
Nice man. I've always liked Lincolns. They are so smooth when they drive, its like riding on air. The ambient lighting is really cool.
It is a very smooth ride, comparable to my Audi for sure, and much faster.
The ambient lighting is one of the biggest surprises about the car for me. The salesman didn't even mention it, but it's something I've always wanted in a car.
Congrats bro, I love to see you finally getting your desired car, it is great, now, I hope to see a video of you getting a ride with your friends and enjoying it a bit more :)
It means a lot that you care. I am very lucky to have this thing. I do need to post a video of it eventually.
Do it, it would be AWESOME :D
This is a beast, I like it at my first look, the color is perfect. congratulations on the upgrade.
For how much $ you sold your Audi ?
It really is beastly. It's what we call a sleeper. Looks like an average sedan, but it's really fun to drive.
Sadly, the Audi was only worth like $1,000 due to high mileage, accidents in the past, and current mechanical issues.
Sick ride!
Thanks mayne! I love it.
drop some more pics of it over to leothreads when you get the chance 👍
That's a good idea. I'll do that after I wash it at some point soon. I've been driving a lot and it's not super clean on the outside right now.
Your story being able to buy your new car earning your stake in the Hive platform is inspiring!Congratulations daltono on this achievement!
It's indeed your new valuable belonging now! I'm happy for you☺️
It took quite a long time to get where I am now, but I think we all stand a chance thanks to Hive. You just have to be willing to put in the work consistently.
It takes persistence and resilience indeed! And I'm just amazed you made it!God bless to all of us on Hive ☺️
I’m amazed also. Hive does a lot of good for people around the world.
The interior design of the car looks very nice and you are in a good mood.
It's pretty great inside and out. The interior is probably my favorite part about it though.
I like your new car! The features are also cool especially the cornering lights. It is my first time to hear about that stuff.
Thanks! I had heard about the cornering lights before, but I assumed it was reserved for only elite-level cars, especially back in 2013. Lincoln doesn't play games.
Nice! Nice! The first word that popped into my head was SWAG, then POSH..
That car is very much my style. very classy and clean looks. NOW, all u need is to go ahead and mod it with one of these..
This thing would look crazy (maybe good maybe bad idk) with a spoiler like that 😱
😜😁 i was kidding, but i did see some cool more subtle spoilers..
i think this would match good..
Congrats Bro! You must be win and get it.
Thank you. I’m so happy to finally have a reliable car that I love driving once again.
Yoo 🤞Many many congratulations 🤞
Finally the hard work pays off. This car is in perfect condition I liked it very much 👍
I’ve been waiting a very long time to get a new car. I’m so happy the day has finally come.
Yes, I have seen that you are a very hardworking person.
Awww
Congratulations to you
I can imagine you happy you will be after getting out from the stress of the old car
Happy about removing the old car stress… but also ecstatic to get sit in something that is so comfortable and nice. Driving it is a treat too.
Congratulations. Sharp looking car for sure. Lincoln's are nice. My uncle always drove a Lincoln and I had a classic 73 Continental in the late 80s. I wish I had pictures, that was such a cool car.
Enjoy your new ride! Looks awesome!
Thanks dude. Now I’m automatically a fan of Lincoln’s. It’s such a great car.
Congratulations on your new ride, this is very nice

😲 wow am happy for you, congratulations
Thank you so much!
Congrats man!! The glow inside looks amazing. I'm not into cars so I can't say too much, but it look really amazing :)
I appreciate it and agree that the glowing interior is quite enjoyable.
Congratulations on the new ride! It is beautiful! I really like that mood lighting, it's so sharp! Now you can rock and roll on the groceries!

Great stuff! Congrats! I bet it feels like a new chapter. A great feeling!

It was hard to imagine because I just thought my other car was going to fun forever. Once I finally switched to this, it took a second for me to be like, DAMN I have myself a new car finally.
Congrats for finally buying a new car to fits your criteria :)
I love the feel of interior design.
I’m in love. Thanks for the support.
This is really a nice car I must confess
looks really nice GG
Thanks homie 🤜🤛
Wow, really beautiful! I'm very late but best wishes for your new car!
It’s never too late to celebrate. Thanks for stopping by and checking the car out.
Congrats!!! That car looks so awesome! Love the lights at the rear too! They look so cool! And wow, that ambient lighting is amaazing! I’ve never ridden cars like that. I just thought they’re reserved for super expensive cars.
I’m hyped about it, thank you. This car has so much more than I was expecting and I’m thrilled.
congratulations friend on your new vehicle now to work and hopefully I did not fail as much as the previous one
Thank you my dear friend.
