Focus on breathing

Focus on breathing; that is the first step.

After I had my worst nightmare ever, and my husband woke me up from it, the first thing I did was to start breathing again and find my way through sobbing back to consciousness and kind of calmness... which happened later. {that dream is it is not suitable for sensitive people so I am not going to write it down here and also, it was just a dream.} It anyway affected my whole day in some way, I can't just forget it easily. I shared the last part of it with my husband; he said that it reminded him about the terrible accident that the actor Jeremy Renner had last year and what was the first thing he did at that moment... There was no time to panic but to focus on breathing to survive the accident, in his case.

I think I needed that lesson today to unpack my rocks and colours (I packed them a few days ago into a big box and put them aside as I felt a little off) and try to bring some details from nature to them. As where could we breathe best if not in nature?

This was the rock chosen for today's activity. I put some little leaves and petals on top and around it to inspire me on how nature, and especially plants, can become part of a kindness rock.

The pebble received two layers of white base paint.

Yellow paint drops, like tears on the white base

Already in its new, yellow outfit!

With a pencil I drew some leaves...

The yellow rock received green leaves and two orange petals

And it got some additional decorations - dots ;))

This was the first step to get some air from nature, from these leaves. But neither the other side of the rock stayed empty. I already felt better and here a more colourful flower could arrive. Once again, I used a pencil to make the outlines for the petals.

I know, here it doesn't look very nice

IMG_20240619_200303_BURST1.jpg

Many little dots of different colours were appearing in each petal

The final result of this flower.

Well, not the final result, as I will still need to apply the varnish but I want to leave it dry well. The little leaves and petals from the first photo were just inspiration, in the end, the natural details in this kindness rock don't even look like the models hahaha.

Ok, I breathe now. And I hope we all do that in every challenging situation. {I just told my son to do the same, as he got a bit upset about some little paperwork problems}.

Sort:

breathe in, breathe out, pause for a second, repeat...

nightmares can be quite the experience, though... it's weird in which wondrous ways our minds deal with the experience of being alive...

hm... yes, being alive...

what in the dream this user you talk to now tried to convert in the opposite

🤐

breathe in, breathe out, pause for a second, repeat..

that's it 🙌

My son also calmed down with his thing, paperwork can be done at 10 pm too when the right people are involved 😁

tried to convert in the opposite

like actively tried ?!?!! or you mean involuntary almost did?

I once had a dream where I did die!! It's almost two decades ago but I can still remember it vividly.

I was inside of an empty cargo train, completely empty wagons, the train was coasting along comfortably and I actually enjoyed myself, watching a weirdly mixed landscape passing by from a jungle-like valley into a tempered european hillside. Then the train started picking up speed, going downhill faster and faster. I was panicking, inside this empty and old wooden cargo wagon. Too fast to jump off, nothing to hold on to! I laid flat on the ground, trying to brace myself for an impact. Literally scared for my life. Then the crash happened. I could feel the wooden planks under my back breaking and crushing through my ribcage... 😨

Then I woke up!

I wasn't myself for a week or two. I think I was actually traumatized by that dream.

Oh my, your dream indeed sounds as one that can traumatize later. I am sorry you had that dream and that it affected you that much. I hope you have never had it again.

I have some dreams that reappear, but those are nice dreams. :)

answer to your question... like actively tried. I was driving but then it seems that there was an accident. I saw my body broken - like my body parts were all detached, but I was conscious. I felt no pain or else, but was so sorry. I took my mind (it somehow had a physical appearance) in my hands and stood by the sea (strange to have another body at the same time) on rough rocks and the waves were strong. I was about to throw that conscious part of me, to drown in the sea. Well, that is when the instinct reacted and I started to panic and sob as I guess the law of life would not allow a living being to do that.

Oh don't feel sorry for my dream. It was a once in a lifetime experience, and while it shook me quite a bit at the time... in retrospect I think it was quite an adventure. I didn't find much meaning behind it other than the sense and fear of a loss of control maybe?!

Your dream on the other hand, it sounds quite meaningful, whatever that meaning might be in your personal context. But the scene you describe, it has some poetic beauty to it ... You should try keeping it in good memory I think.

You should try keeping it in good memory I think.

I probably will 😇

What anguish the nightmares cause, it's such a difficult feeling to explain, I hope it doesn't happen again, but nevertheless, don't forget to breathe.

How was your son's entrance exam? How was it playing with him? Sorry if you talked about it and I didn't read you, but I've been a bit out of Hive.

No había visto esta roca...hermosa. Otra amarilla, igualmente linda. 🤗

Siii...y bien profundo. Gracias Mipiano, un abrazo de vuelta 🤗

I liked that flower you painted and the yellow background. If you look closely at that flower the first part could perfectly be a Butterfly, it just lacks the body. Every day your designs are more beautiful. A bad dream is out of the question. Only nice things. Like that flower you painted. Nice weekend @mipiano.🦋🥰❤️

Oh, that is true, it indeed looked like a butterfly in one moment. You have a good eye ;)

Have a great weekend you too 🦋

I loved them!!! breathe!!! and it gave me an idea... put paint on the leaves and use them as stamps on the rocks. you could try....

Watch out for nightmares! The best thing is nature, do it right!🌿

I also thought about trying to use the leaves as stamps, or to attach them to the surface of the rock but then I just let the idea go. You remember, I still have to try to experiment with the hair thing too

I remembered about the hair hahaha.... another idea is to put a crumpled plastic bag in paint and put it on the stone!

Those weird, disturbing dreams happen to me too. And yes, they can ruin the whole day, or at least the rest of the night.

Now breathe....

We should remember in those situations that they are just dreams (but they do affect us 🙄)

Yes, now breathe and 💤...

Each time you manage to come up with something a little more colorful and creative. This stone looks perfect.

Thank you @incublus :)

Will we see one day a kindness rock from your side? 😇

Maybe one day 😅

It is nice you found a way to relax by breathing and then painting rocks to release your tension.
Both alternatives are really good for finding the balance/disturbance in the mind. Nice Kindness rock.
the flower is beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you dear @hindavi

You also know the feeling when we paint a rock 😇 it is indeed finding the balance ;)

Do you practice meditation? Well, I think your time painting this kindness rocks is similar to that. In that moments only exist you, the pebble, the colors and your breathing in and out. ❤️

Every day I stop for ten minutes just to breathe. Since I do it, I feel much better. 😘

Rock meditation :D that is what I practice haha

That is very true - when we do something creative, we are fully focused on that and it brings joy 😇

Gracias Paloma, ahora voy a ver tus imanes de nevera 😉

Are you feeling very stressed in life recently? Take some time off from work if you can and get some more me time. It seems like rock painting is helping you already, you choose a happy yellow colour!!

Soon, the school year will finish, so there will be one thing less in the schedule ;)

I am more than happy that the pebbles came into my life. And yes, the yellow colour gives good vibes, I finished this rock today applying the varnish so I absorbed more joy from it. 😇

Take a deep breath, and breath and breath, this is also effective during a panic attack. Just breath, close the eyes and focus on breathing. And it can really help a lot, everything will go back to normal including the loud and fast bu-dum bu-dun from our heart.

What you did is like a good therapy that is really helpful. And you are so focus on making all this, the result is so pretty. I hope you are super better now.

That is indeed the best technique to calm down, especially if panic attacks or hyperventilation - just breathe slowly to get back to a normal state :D

Spot on - this painting on rocks is great therapy 😉

I'm looking forward for another amazing rock design, and hope this time it is inspired with the happy time you had ✨✨🤗

I love how you highlight the power of focusing on our breath. It's such a simple yet effective way to find peace.
The artwork is stunning!

Thank you 😇. Sometimes the solutions are simple, and effective - as this one :))

Is that a mango over there in the fifth image :) Beautiful activity ✨

Well, not a nightmare might be but at least a disturbing dream it was. Still in my mind, but you know what is the good thing? It was a dream ^^

Hmm, it is not a mango, as far as I know haha

but you know what is the good thing? It was a dream

yes, and it was also the thing my mom always used to say 😇

Dreams… they can disturb us for a while even days.
Sorry to hear you had such a nightmare.
Breathing does help…

I like the stones. Beautiful work with the leaves of nature 🥰
You can use themselves as stamps too
Take care!
!HUG

Thanks, Jackie. It is better today, the dream seems more distant now. And the rock painting activity also brought many positive vibes, with its yellow colour 😇

You are welcome 🤗 thats good to hear.
Enjoy the painting process… it makes you forget 😁
Have a lovely friday!

I sent 1.0 HUG
(1/3)Dear @mipiano, you just got hugged. on behalf of @littlebee4.

After reading here I have been thinking a lot about you and how we each manage difficult times. So today I wanted to write something, then I said: what am I going to write if sometimes it gets difficult here too and I don't even know what I'm doing to improve? Well, nothing... Then I let myself be carried away by inspiration and what came out was what came out. I'll send it to you. Just wait, I'm in the middle of a blackout and the pages won't open.

Te mando un abrazo, mipiano.

Oh, blackout again! 🤦‍♀

We always have to find a way to manage difficulties, each one in its own way. The impact of the dream was strong but after all, it was just a dream from which I can also learn, or as we see - paint a rock :)), or you get inspiration on your way. And don't you worry, I am fine and hope you too. I read your post from the other day. Life gives us troubles - and I suppose the only thing we can do is try to grow and handle difficulties as we can.

I'll send it to you.

Thank you 😌

It's OK. I like what I see. A very nice walk and other little things here and there. 🙂
Well, without much more to add, just go and read the first few letters of the paragraphs you wrote. There's going to be a capital H missing but it's there... somehow.

There are times when we have a dream and it ruins our day
I’m glad your husband was able to calm you down and I love the way you painted this rock
It looks really beautiful

Luckily, they are just dreams as some of them should/could not happen in real ;)

Nightmare is a common problem but really not good. Its good that you husband helped you.
Except from these the leave as a staml on the rock is a best idea. I will also try it for my work. Thanks for sharing you art.
