I love play2earn (p2e) games but one thing that is starting to hold me back and be a little more picky with what games I play is the amount of time it takes. For example I never got involved with Axie Infinity for two primary reasons. The first I didn't want to pay fees and second from what I could find out I needed to invest a good 1-3 hours into the game daily! Time is the one resource we can't get more of so if it's not an effective means of my time I wont be doing it.
That said let's talk about this game RisingStar which runs on the Hive Blockchain this game is one of the most passive styles of play2earn that I know of but still comes with great fun, awesome music and a team that continues to build and evolve the game.
Getting Started
To get started in Rising star you'll need a Hive account. If you don't have one already you can get one here with a little resource delegation Join Hive Blockchain
You'll then need to register a new account on the game RisingStar once complete it's time to get playing! The first few days you'll be investing much more time to get things rolling compared to a few weeks of playing.
Once logged in your screen will looks something like this but with different numbers. The only parts you really need to know for now are the following.
1) Is your energy bar. It's what's used to do mission and will slowly replenish over time or if you have a Pizza.
2) Click this plus button to see if you have any Pizza. It mainly comes randomly from doing missions. Using it will replenish your energy bar to full so I recommend only using it when it's low and you're not able to do anymore missions because of it. (These pizzas can be hard to come by)
3) Is the island you're currently on to do missions should you ever need to find your way back.
The other side of the screen is all about your location and mission.
1) The current island you're on
2) The mission list and what currently one is selected in orange
3) The time left till mission is complete
4) Stats you'll need to be able to do this mission. From right to left Number of fans 1,200 | level 55 (which you can see at the top of your screen), time 300 minutes and energy needed in this case 100%.
Under that are you potential rewards for doing the mission. In this case I could earn anywhere between 750 - 3,469 starbits. I'd also get 134 XP to help me level up and Ego at the moment you won't have to worry about till level 15.
What Is Ego?
Ego is a way to slow down the game so no one person makes of with billions of starbits. Ego has to be off set by skill which is either learned from doing special missions or is part of a cards stat.
What Do I Earn For Playing The Game?
By playing the game you'll be earning a layer 2 token of hive called Starbits. These starbits can either be sold for Hive or you could buy packs to help you progress in the game at 10,000 starbits per pack or 100,000 starbits for 12 packs.
Going Forward
As you start to get a feel for the game click around on other areas and start to explore and read. In many cases these parts you won't be touching for a good month or so as your main focus in the first few weeks is going to be getting packs, buying cards and stacking some starbits.
I recommend either selling the starbits and buying some cards off the market to help you with skill early on or save up and buy your first pack yourself.
These are NFT game cards which can be sold and collected as well another aspect of the game. As you can see as you progress in level you could end up only having to click about 3-5 times a day to max out your missions each day. Each time costing you about 30 seconds to 1 minute of your time. Talk about great ROI on yur time! Plus like I said you'll end up coming to love the game and all it's little things it offers including random events.
