Getting some support and (if you need it) accountability from someone is definitely a big part of it from my experience.

I've had various levels and forms of addiction throughout life as I'm sure many have. The solution isn't always simple.
However, I've found that more often than not the steps you need to take are surprisingly simple.

1 example: It can be something as simple as asking a roommate or partner to call you out on things or help you buy less of something.
I believe sometimes the justification for addiction becomes subconscious, and having someone remind you that you're pursuing a certain goal or trying to stay under a limit can help a lot.
