I love Nigeria, it's my country and it's the only place I know on Earth. I believe Nigeria will be good one day, but my great grand kids will probably have died of old age by that time.
I think about leaving Nigeria at least twelve times a day. I mean, I like the country as an idea but I really hate it here.
I live in Kaduna, and it's quiet. I live a low-key life, nothing fancy but at the same time there's just so much we lack.
Compared to most places in the country, Kaduna actually has decent power supply but right now, I'm typing in the dark.
As our puppy licks my toe and then begins to chew because she's growing teeth, I think about how life would have been so much better if we always have light.
I know that we can have constant electricity but we don't because someone is profiting off the shitty power supply.
I spend a lot of time with our puppy and I observe how she behaves. She's dumb as fuck and only cares about food. She's a cutie though, so it evens out.
We're where we are because many Nigerians act like my puppy. If people just did their fucking jobs and stopped being hungry all the time, we'll grow.
People lie and regularly, then justify it with "money no dey". It's true, money no dey and I'd be lying if I said I don't understand where they're coming from.
The human mind is fascinating though. When you've lived in the trenches for a long time, any glimmer of light, even if it's fire that'll scorch you, will give you hope.
I'm tired of complaining about Nigeria. So, for my peace of mind, I've decided that leaving Nigeria is the best thing for me and my family.
Any updates on leave Nigeria buddy?
Still saving towards it bro. We're making progress.
We're doing some documentations and stuff, after that, we'll start applying for schools in the UK and other countries in Europe
Hmmmmm.....
Exactly, this is a very tangible and good method if japa'ing.😁
Okay Okay, still good to hear!
Thats amazing buddy :D

Its sad but true😂
The center of your discussion reminds me about @revisesociology. That dude packed up and left his normal place of living and is literally building his own way of life. I'm not sure if that would work for your family, but I know his experiences could help you come up with some kind of solution for you. Best of luck.
I also understand the need for supporting the family. It's a hard life electricity or not. You might not be able to enjoy the things they will because you are busy providing those things for them.
You'll get through it especially if you're set on leaving. Would you need to leave the country or continent? What kind of options are you looking at?
Funny thing is that I actually had an extensive conversation with him about his life in Portugal because Portugal is one of our option.
Being a Nigerian is frustrating because not only is it shitty inside, most countries also hate the shit out of us 😄. We're flagged in virtually every country in the world these days.
It's just me and my wife, and we're not making babies any time soon, so we're just saving for our exit. Right now, the two easiest routes is either relocating to Portugal with that their visa for freelancers or save up and pay for a masters for my wife and then move with her as a dependent.
Leaving Nigeria is in the mind of virtually most Nigerians now, especially as elections is coming up... I have been since i lost the funds am supposed to use to japa from this country... Praying God should restore it for me so i can move
Fingers crossed mate. I hope you get it back in ten folds
This is why I do tell people that are quite keen on leaving ..to have tangible reasons for leaving and have an already established their landing base at the destination where they can time out to now re-plan in accordance to the things they meet or see. An established base could be that one has been employed already or better stil academics - already got admission for a PhD....Even complaining abour Nigeria, @belemo , is stress on its own. But come to think of it o, not all these do called abroad are actually greener pastures as they seem on the outside o.
Yeah true. We're not going in blind. We'll use academics
Look into applying for Mexican residence by showing your Splinterlands account to a Mexican embassy.
Hey bro, is this actually possible?
I believe it is possible.
