RE: Hive-Naija Weekend Engagement #46 - "My Dream Job"

in Speak Peace โ€ข 2 years ago (edited)

It's been long since I participated in this hangout, and then you present a very interesting topic just when I resumed hive! ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ

First, when I was in primary school, I always dreams of being a petrochemical engineer. Most kids my age at that time just chose professions randomly without knowing much about them but I was actually serious about being a petrochemical engineer. I knew what they do and what it took. That was how passionate I was about it.

When I started my junior secondary school, something happened in JSS2 that changed the path I intended to choose.

We were involved in an accident when traveling to the village. Although it was serious, me and my mom fortunately managed to escape wish just a couple of bruises. I had a deep cut on my arm though, but it wasn't at all serious compared to the situation of a woman who fainted, her head also appeared swollen and she wasn't breathing. She was lying face down and her sister was crying profusely, shaking her vigorously to wake up. A doctor who happened to be a passenger too went to the woman, felt her pulse and saw that she wasn't breathing. He then turned her so that her back was now on the ground. After some minutes, the woman drew a sharp breath and opened her eyes. I was astonished. Is he a magician, my small mind by all means wanted to learn that "power". That made me want to become a doctor. That simple act awoke my love for medicine.

In later years, I came to learn that if the doctor hadn't come at that exact time, the woman would have been dead. I mean here was a woman who was crying. She obviously loved her sister but yet couldn't help her. If she had known that all she had to do was make her lie on her back, she wouldn't have hesitated a bit. Then came the doctor who didn't even know them but was still able to save them. Something that didn't mean anything to him meant the world to someone else. That was what I wanted to become, a hope for the hopeless.

  • What's my dream job: Due to all that occurence, my dream job was and will always be to become a medical doctor.

  • Is it achievable or not? : It is. I take a step everyday towards becoming a doctor. I am a level 200 medical student already and by God's grace, I shall achieve this dream.

Thanks for the mention @sam.hangout and may we all achieve our dreams. Amen.

Wow I'm so touched by the way you explained how your first and second dream job came about.

200 level medicine student... You're not far from your dream job at all.

We wish you the very best... Me I want free treatment card in advance please ๐Ÿ˜Œ

I am glad you enjoyed reading. Indeed with God and hardwork, all things are possible.

Thanks for the well wishes. As for free medicine card, try not to get sick in the first place cos you future medical doctors are busy catching cruise and dancing on tiktok๐Ÿฅด๐Ÿฅด

๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ
It's so funny but that is our reality now... A lot is really going on Tiktok God help the sick ๐Ÿ˜ข

They are dancing but some are still serious Sha, but the shocking video i saw one day on FB was when the patient was jerking and the doctor who's suppose to treat him was videoing him
I was like, Christ, where's this man's brain ๐Ÿง ๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”

Damn! That's effed up. That doctor ought to be stripped of his license asap as he's not only negligent of his work but also violating a patient's confidentiality and privacy.

Sure, the serious ones are much more than the unserious ones, besides most of the unserious ones get dropped off on the way.

Yes oo, the stories are truly inspiring, hehe.

Sure

Yeah

Hmmmmm my boss I hail theee, I can see you achieving your dream soon, just be patient and work hard because you are getting there ...

Interesting reason for a change of dream job, I'm glad you want to be a hope for the hopeless, that's a noble thing and I wish you all the best in your choice of career.

Thank you so much for joining us after some time now, it's a great pleasure having you around ๐Ÿ˜Š

Yes it did change everything for me. Thanks for the well wishes..
It's my pleasure being part of this. I don't intend to miss any hangout henceforth ๐Ÿ˜Š

Oh wow then I look forward to seeing you around more often, hehe. You are welcome by the way ๐Ÿ˜Š

Thanks!

You're welcome ๐Ÿ˜Š

Wow, this got me wowing and the fact that you are on your way towards achieving the dream makes it more awesome

Humans are like devices we repair, just a little touch and they'll be fine, but the wrong touch may lead to total damage... Like they say, my people perish for lack of knowledge and that was how that lady would have perished (died) because her sister lacked medical knowledge
Just keep up with the study, it's humanity first and i pray your dream actualize... Much love ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•

Indeed. Various circumstances and happenings motivate m to put on more effort and God has been faithful too.

You're right. You everything matters in the human body that's why a person has to be extremely careful. Knowledge is literally life.
Thanks for the heartwarming comment

I wish you well bro, but abeg, find side hustle o, na hand wey strong dey carry bucket o. Make sure you learn a skill and develop other means of income. Medicine was and is still a scam in this parts of the world.

You're right bro and thank you for the advice. I was actually learning programming during the strike and still make time to write code sometimes.

Conditions are truly not favorable for Nigerians no matter their profession. Doctors are one of the frontliners when it comes to japaing in Nigeria, I intend to follow suit if things don't change. But by God's grace, things shall be better soon.

That was a good use of the time. If you take both it seriously, hunger no go wound you.

Thanks for the encouragement Sir. May Sapa stay far away from all of us.

Amen ooo
No be every one wan comot this country.

Wow ๐Ÿ˜ฎ since morning.

I just dey see person walking his path to dream job, oppoorrrr

Congratulations ๐ŸŽ†

I'm glad you could join us, we hope to keep seeing you.
