RE: 🎵 Hive Open Mic 119 - Worldwide Live Music Event

Hello, friends, this week the proposal is to interpret melodies that have to do with "Prejudice" (Prejudice) ... but what are prejudices? They are those ideas or judgments, rather opinions, that we have about something or someone without having given "yet" reason. For example: "Look at that child's tremendous face... he must be terrible" That is a prejudice, they are already judging that he is tremendous without him having yet taken action. The prejudices appear in many ways... when someone is judged by the color of the skin, by the place of origin... Like when Felipe meets his brother Nathanael and tells him that they found the Messiah, Nathan hardly listens that Jesus comes from Nazareth asks his brother "Can anything good come out of Nazareth?" (That is found in the Gospel according to Saint John in chapter 1, verses 45 and 46. ) And prejudices are not only of adults. It happens when a child says "I don't like to eat that" and the mother replies: "But you haven't tried it!" And the boy continues..."But I don't like it". He doesn't like how he looks and is prejudiced that he will taste bad. That's how it is. I chose to play my version this week (a little different and much shorter than the original) of the song "Ligia Elena" because there you can see that there are two boys who fall in love and the mother doesn't love the boy because of his profession and because of your skin color. The boy is a trumpeter and she sees that as bad. And he's poor, bad too. And he's dark-skinned and he sees it bad too. They are people with a lot of money, and maybe the father hired an orchestra to play for his daughter's 15th birthday and she ended up marrying the trumpeter and moving into a tiny room "with very little furniture." The original theme was sung by Ruben Blades
