Global harmony is our mission. World peace is our vision. Our community's weekly open mic event attracts enthusiastic musicians and listeners. Our virtual song circle reaches globally, while upholding the classic pattern of a traditional open mic event. At the end of each week, we celebrate the music with a Community Concert.
Everyone is welcome here in our haven for expression and connection. We welcome music fans and casual listeners, while holding space for musicians of every style and any skill level. Here, music lovers build real relationships worldwide. Every contributor can be proud of the fact we are building a more harmonious world by sharing our enjoyment of music.
For the 119th week of Hive Open Mic, we will explore the following theme: "Prejudice." This theme is chosen by our recent Spotlight Artist: @lisbeth26. Everyone is encouraged to share the collective current as we express and connect through: Prejudice.

This week's Hive Open Mic theme is: “Prejudice.” This is a pressure-free invitation, encouraging us to explore new territory together as artists, sharing common ground as a community. Musicians always have full freedom to bring whatever music feels inspired in the moment. Here's a timeline, for anyone wishing to look back, be present, or prepare future entries.
How To Play

I count prejudice and intolerance among the aberrations and injustices characteristic of many elements of the human race. It is something shameful. Humanity continues to maintain a arrogant attitude of a supposed superiority in the animal kingdom that is quite debatable. I love that topic for this week, which gives opportunity for the complaint. and congratulations to featured artist @lisbeth26 for bringing this controversial topic to the fore.

Hello, friends, this week the proposal is to interpret melodies that have to do with "Prejudice" (Prejudice) ... but what are prejudices? It happens when a child says "I don't like to eat that" and the mother replies: "But you haven't tried it!" And the boy continues..."But I don't like it". He doesn't like how he looks and is prejudiced that he will taste bad. That's how it is. I chose to play my version this week (a little different and much shorter than the original) of the song "Ligia Elena" because there you can see that there are two boys who fall in love and the mother doesn't love the boy because of his profession and because of your skin color. The boy is a trumpeter and she sees that as bad. And he's poor, bad too. And he's dark-skinned and he sees it bad too. They are people with a lot of money, and maybe the father hired an orchestra to play for his daughter's 15th birthday and she ended up marrying the trumpeter and moving into a tiny room "with very little furniture." Prejudice, that which makes us judge a priori events before they happen and people before meeting them. It's the theme of this week's songs, a theme selected by ur Spotlight artist @lisbeth26.
We can have prejudices without knowing it... and we must be careful to read our lives between the lines to discover and eliminate them. Like this song that I selected to participate today: "Manantial de Corazón" (Heart Spring) , by the Venezuelan singer-songwriter Yordano. At first glance we would think that it has nothing to do with prejudice, but there is a hidden prejudice: The central character says that he feels sad and alone, he looks in the mirror, and sees a young man, but he feels like a hundred-year-old. There is the prejudice: he assumes that a 100-year-old person must feel sad and alone... without realizing that he, being young, feels that way. Which means that these feelings have nothing to do with age but with the adverse circumstances that may exist in life. Hidden and underhanded or uncovered, prejudice damages human relationships. Hopefully we can, cleanse our lives of them, just as "The Little Prince" cleansed his planet of baobabs.

Upa, creo que este tema dará lugar a polémicas, ya que los prejuicios se esconden tras mil máscaras y a veces prejuzgamos hasta por costumbre sin darnos cuenta. Quizá nos de la oportunidad de revisarnos y si encontramos un prejuicio por allí solapado, disimulado y disfrazado en nuestra forma de ser y expresarnos, erradicar eso de nuestra vida nos hará crecer como personas. Wou, I think this topic will give rise to controversy, since prejudices hide behind a thousand masks and sometimes we even prejudge out of habit without realizing it. Perhaps it will give us the opportunity to review ourselves and if we find a prejudice over there hidden and disguised in our way of being and expressing ourselves, eradicating that from our lives will make us grow as people. Hello community, this week our Spot Light artist @lisbeth26 proposes that we tackle the topic of prejudice. That is why I chose to participate with "Piel de Ángel" (Angel Skin) by Camilo Sesto, a song in which a couple, who recognize themselves as "the favorite conversation of people who think they are perfect", that is, the center of gossip, of their town or their social circle, is forced to meet secretly because of the prejudices that those around them have against their relationship. The lyrics do not imply what they cross out in their relationship and leaves it to the free interpretation of each one to imagine what happens. This makes the song adapt to many cases that come to mind when listening to it.
Camilo Sesto, the well-known Spanish performer and composer with a prodigious voice who moved to another plane in 2019 left us many beautiful songs and was a very popular figure in the 70s with his ballads and his privileged and unmistakable voice.

Excelente temática me gusta ya que hoy ese es el día a día que vivimos, juzgando a las personas sin saber realmente quienes somos o porque caemos en ciertos errores que nos llevan hacer tan prejuicios...
