Greetings to everyone in this beautiful Open Mic community. This week #260 explores the theme: "Sudden Changes." I am pleased to share my trumpet performance of "More (Theme From Mondo Cane)," a pop song composed by Riz Ortolani and Nino Oliviero for the documentary "Mondo Cane" (1962). My favorite version is undoubtedly Frank Sinatra's. The English lyrics were added by Norman Newell and speak of an idealized love that transcends borders and represents the most powerful force in the universe, which defies the finite and the imperfect, even in a world full of contradictions. The melody is serene and elegant, based on major second and third intervals, with a slight chromatic descent and an octave jump that always surprises me. The original key is E Major, and it has a slow tempo, known as andante con moto, and a rubato characteristic of the vocal performances.

Un cordial saludo para todos en esta bella comunidad del Open Mic. En esta semana #260, exploramos la temática: "Sudden Changes". Tengo el agrado de compartir mi interpretación con la trompeta de «More (Theme From Mondo Cane)» una canción pop compuesta por Riz Ortolani y Nino Oliviero para el documental Mondo Cane (1962). Mi versión favorita sin duda es la de Frank Sinatra. La letra en inglés fue agregada por Norman Newell y habla de un amor idealizado y que trasciende fronteras y representa la fuerza más poderosa del universo, la cual desafía lo finito y lo imperfecto, incluso en un mundo lleno de contradicciones. La melodía es serena, elegante, y se basa en intervalos de segunda y terceras mayores, con un leve descenso cromático y un salto de octava que siempre me sorprende. La tonalidad original está en E Mayor, y tiene un tempo lento, conocido como andante con moto y un rubato característico de las interpretaciones vocales.
We live in a world of constant change. If there's one certain thing, it's that everything changes. The world changes, and we change. There are changes for which we are prepared, and others that come suddenly and take us by surprise. Our decisions can induce some sudden changes. For example, we can swim into a whirlpool and not be able to escape a fatal destiny. I believe it's important to be prudent and prepare for the future. The future may be tomorrow, a month from now, or in the next few years. Since we are vulnerable to change, it's important to prepare for future crises. No one learns from someone else's experience, and it often happens that we stumble over the same stone. You can store food, save and avoid unnecessary debt, eat well, and educate yourself for the future. In the end, no one knows where we will be in the next 10 years, but you can do something today for the future. I hope you enjoy my interpretation.

Vivimos en un mundo de constantes cambios. Si hay algo seguro, es que todo cambia. Cambia el mundo, y cambiamos nosotros. Existen cambios para los cuales estamos preparados, y otros llegan repentinamente y nos toman por sorpresa. Algunos cambios repentinos pueden ser inducidos por nuestras decisiones. Por ejemplo, podemos nadar hasta un remolino, y no ser capaces de escapar de un destino fatal. Considero que es importante ser prudentes y prepararnos para el futuro. El futuro puede ser mañana, dentro de un mes o en los próximos años. Como somos vulnerables a los cambios, es importante prepararse para crisis futuras. Nadie aprende con experiencia ajena, e incluso suele pasar que nos tropezamos con la misma piedra. Se puede almacenar alimentos, ahorrar y evitar deudas innecesarias, alimentarse bien y educarse para el futuro. Al final, nadie sabe dónde estaremos en los próximos 10 años, pero se puede hacer algo hoy por el futuro. Espero que disfruten de mi interpretación.
