As you all know, I like fun and challenging myself. Today I am very happy to share my new adventure by participating in the 2024 edition of HiveFest, which will take place in less than a week in Split.
Hit the road, Arcange!
This will be my 9th time attending HiveFest. Each year has brought new experiences, connections, and unforgettable memories. But this time, I wanted to push the boundaries a bit and embrace a long-held dream of mine: undertaking a long-distance motorbike trip that combines my passion for both the Hive blockchain and the open road.
Therefore, I've decided to take on a new challenge and make the journey to Croatia on my trusty motorbike! Yes, you read that right: I'll be riding over 1500 kilometers to join the event, a journey I plan to complete in 5 days.
The Route
I started my trip today from Cluny in the beautiful Burgundy, France
I'm now embarked on a journey that promises breathtaking landscapes and diverse cultures. Here's my planned route:
Crossing the Alps: This leg of the trip will probably be one of the most challenging yet rewarding parts of the journey. The mountainous scenery and fresh air will undoubtedly be spectacular, and I can't wait to take it all in.
I will then cross the Aosta Valley and go through prominent cities of Italy like Milan, Verona and Venic, Trieste.
After a short incursion into Slovenia, I'll ride along the stunning Croatian coastline. The Adriatic Sea’s azure waters and Islands will guide me south to Split, a stretch I think will be among the most scenic of the entire trip.
Sharing My Journey
Today was day 1 of my trip.
I have to admit that it wasn't the best start. I had barely left Cluny when it started raining heavily. The rain followed me for a good part of the journey but fortunately, I was blessed with beautiful sunshine for the last hour in the Alps.
This day has left me feeling drained, both literally and figuratively.

While I consider myself a noob at blogging or vlogging, I will do my best to document my experiences by sharing this journey with the Hive Community. However, I ask you to be patient because the goal of this trip is to travel and not to stay in front of a computer in a hotel room writing posts and editing videos.
I hope my story will inspire others to embark on their own adventures and challenge themselves in new ways.

Good luck on your travels. I just did a 2 month tour of France Italy Austria Germany and France again on the return trip to the uk. It was exhausting, expensive and exhilarating all at the same time.
Spectacular scenery in all countries.

Of course, you don't have to say it, don't lock yourself up anywhere to blog, just write down what's important to share later and take several photographs.

Ich möchte dir keine schlechte Laune unter den Helm hauchen. Doch zeigt mir die Vorhersage der kroatischen Meteorologen, dass auch ich ab diesem Wochenende ich mich von der Trockenheit und Temperaturen von 30° und mehr verabschieden kann. 😮😉
Trotzdem wünsche ich dir eine gute Fahrt und keine Begegnung mit Wahnsinnigen auf dem Asphalt. Am kommenden Montag beginnt nämlich hier wieder das Schuljahr und somit geht es mit entsprechend schlechter Laune von der Küste zurück in die Betonwüste.
I don't want to put you in a bad mood with this. But the forecast of the Croatian meteorologists shows me that I too can say goodbye to the dry weather and the temperatures of 30 degrees Celsius and more from this weekend on. 😮😉
Anyway, my best wishes to you all for a safe journey and no encounters with maniacs on the tarmac. School starts back here next Monday, so I guess lots of people be heading back from the coast to the city-jungle in a bad mood.
We still have nice temperature and weather in Split.

Vlogging can be fun, but it's time consuming for a noob like me.
I will probably do all the editing once back home.
I just do it all from my iPhone with the YouTube app… takes 2 seconds to create a Short with music.
Noobs shall be noobs. That's not the kind of thing I like to learn by myself. I need someone to teach me 😜
I could teach you in about 5 minutes. If you have an iPhone with the YouTube app installed. Click of about 5-10 buttons on your iPhone with. Choose a few short 10 video clips (up to 60 seconds total) add music, adjust volume, upload to your YouTube channel. You already have a YouTube channel if you have gmail

That's quite a trip and covering that sort of distance on a bike can be tough. A friend took his bike right across Europe a couple of years ago and had fun. Riding through the mountains will be fun. I gave up my motorbike when the kids were small and I miss it a bit.
Riding through the mountains is something I was looking forward to. Maybe one day you'll get back on a bike. Let me know if you do it and let's share a ride ;)
