Merry Christmas Everyone!
We hope your holiday season has been filled with joy, laughter, and plenty of good memories. Last night, we hosted our annual Christmas Eve Open House, and let me tell you, it was a full house this year! A solid 30 friends and family members came over, filling the place with festive cheer.
It was so nice catching up with everyone .. Some friends we only see once or twice a year, so gatherings like these are extra special. While it’s impossible to sit and talk deeply with every single person, just having everyone under one roof is heartwarming. There were cocktails, great food, and a lot of good conversation.
Huxley is wiped after all that excitement last night.. I guess I am too. Hosting Parties is tiring.
This year was a big milestone for Mr. Huxley, too! It was his first major party with a crowd of people, and he handled it like a champ. No one stepped on him .. Probably because he spent most of the evening being passed from one set of loving arms to another. He soaked up all the attention, and honestly, it made my life so much easier. With Huxley happily occupied, we could focus on keeping the food trays full, drinks topped off, and trash cleared.
The kids are growing up so fast. It's always nice to see them having so much fun together. LOVE it!
As we wrap up Christmas Day .. We’re about to head to my wife’s family’s home for dinner and more good conversation. But before we do, I just wanted to take a moment to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas. I hope your holiday is as perfect as can be, surrounded by those you love.
I am going to have a Christmas martini a bit later, and will toast all of you.. My friends.
Cheers to the season and the memories we’re making!

A Little Christmas Silver
Bless All The Children ... One Troy Oz .999 Fine Silver
The nativity structure I purchased from the thrift store for $5.00.. What a find! snd the nativity pieces we bought on one of our trips to Mexico. The silver coin was a gift from my parents.
What a wonderful Nativity set! And that Christmas silver round is beautiful! I have one like that from last year's Christmas!!!
Wow, that sounds like such a vibrant and joyful gathering! Hosting a Christmas Eve Open House with 30 friends and family must have been an incredible experience. 😊🎄✨. There's nothing quite like the warmth and cheer that comes from having loved ones around, especially during the holiday season. The laughter, conversations, and festive spirit surely made for a memorable evening.
Go, Mr. Huxley! 🎉🐾 It can be a bit overwhelming for pets to be around so many people, but it sounds like he took it all in stride. Kudos to everyone for being mindful of him too! Was Mr. Huxley mingling with guests or did he have a favorite spot to observe all the action? 😊🐶
Merry Christmas, @bdmillergallery, and your beautiful wife!

I love that Nativity. It looks a little 'thrown together', if that makes any sense, but very unique.
We have a couple of others, but this one is my favorite. I'll add a couple of photos to this comment in a few minutes.
There is always stress and work involved with larger parties, but worth it in the end when you see everyone having a good time with each other. It was a successful gathering in celebration of Christs birth.
Huxley had his beds to lay in, but I would say he was being held by someone 80% of the time, and mingling the other 20. He did an excellent job of handling the crowd and appears there was very little unwanted feeding. He may have gotten a piece of a potato chip that had fallen, but nothing major. We always ask that no one feed our dogs, because not everyone has a dog or pet, so they have no idea what is good or bad for them. We are lucky that people listen. lol.
Happy Holidays, it sounds like it was an amazing night and Mr. Huxley enjoyed it with all the attention given to him.
I loved the pictures of the kids on the stairs, how quickly life goes by, right?
Have a nice vacation and a very nice end of the year.
Time really is a thief. So fast.
Huxley is depressed now that everyone has left. Or maybe he is just tired... lol
Happy Holidays to you as well!
That's great to hear Huxley handled it so well. I don't think my wife and I even know 30 people that we could invite somewhere!
Hahaha.. Sure you do.
In the past we have had 45 to 50. It got hot in the house. Had to turn on the AC a few of those years.
Since, people have passed away or have moved away. That's sad to think about so I try not to.
Hope you had a nice relaxing time.
Wow, that is pretty crazy that it got that warm! We have about six people we can really count as close friends that we would maybe have over. That doesn't include family. We used to have New Years parties but it was never more than twenty people I don't think.
We have a decent amount of family that is included in that number. We have a core group of friends that we are very blessed to have. Not a ton, but just enough to brighten our lives.
Ah, okay, that makes more sense then. You are probably right, if we invited our brothers and sisters and their spouses then it would probably be closer to 30. I'm not sure where we would fit them all in our current house though!
There ya go. See you do know lots of people. lol
Lucky we have a decent amount of room here. Nothing too over the top, but too much for two people and a dog most of the year. hehe. We thought about downsizing a few years ago, but it would cost us the same to build smaller. We decided just to stay put and enjoy the water views that we would otherwise be giving up. We'll make a move after retirement.. whenever that comes.
Yeah, that sounds about like us. We still plan on moving before too long, but I am not sure if we are going to build or what. The good thing about building even though it is more expensive is you can get it the way you want and hopefully some of those "gotcha" issues aren't there. You never can tell though. Our house is small at 1600 square feet or so, but a lot of the space is wasted. I just want a larger living room where people can gather. The rest of the house can be small beyond that. Except maybe the kitchen. A spacious kitchen would be nice too.
Merry Christmas and great to hear nobody stepped on Huxley!
Hehehe.. Close calls but no one squished him. Lots of snug hugs though. lol
Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas! It looks you had really an happy Christmas Eve and Mr. Huxley is so so sweet (the first pic is simply fantastic).🎄🎄🎄
Merry Christmas!
Thank you. He sat right there and let me take that photo with ease. Hux is good at sitting still for photos I have to say, so it makes my life a little easier.
Very nice Christmas silver round.
Merry Christmas to you and yours as well!
Christmas season is an avenue to link up with our friends and loved ones and I’m glad you did just like I did too
Have fun!
I agree 100%.. and am Glad you had a nice time too!
I'm amazed at how peacefully your pet sleeps. Well, he already knows that you will take care of him.
I wish you a Merry Christmas.
He's a good boy.. still a puppy that gets into mischief, but overall a great dog.
A lot to take in for the newest family member huh? What a milestone for him. It's inspiring to see how well you put together so many elements together for a Christmas celebration down to the tiny details. Well done @bdmillergallery and a very merry Christmas 🍹
Yeah it was, but he handled it a lot better than I was expecting him too. Thank goodness.
The stress is in the details, but in the end I realize that not too many realize it if I forgot something. or forgot to put something out. Then comes the clean-up! uggggg.
What a lovely party and lots of kids! I'm glad Huxley did well at his first party. Merry Christmas!
Us too. He was awesome.
Lots of work for a few hours of time.. but it's worth it for us.
Kids growing up so fast.. bittersweet.
