Moments of life
Since I learned about the theme of the month I have not stopped thinking about a very nice phrase that I found on the internet and I wanted to put on my cover image "life is short, make it happy" seems a cliché phrase but if we analyze it at this time it would fall very well for our BOM.
The life of all of us who are fortunate enough to reach this age has gone through many highs and lows, we have lived many moments in different circumstances, with different scenarios and a variety of people coming and going in our lives for different circumstances.
What could be better than to live those moments in a positive way, always highlighting the good side of things, looking for nothing but happiness in everything that happens to us and everything that surrounds us.
I wish the younger ones knew this at an early age and do not let time pass without enjoying every moment that life gives us.
Today I want to remember moments of my life in which I was very happy, I want to remember those beautiful people who have passed through my life; many of them have gone to another earthly plane, others have simply had to go to other countries and others who came into my life for a specific reason and then left but left beautiful footprints in my heart.
I want to dedicate this post to them and also to a special place that all Venezuelans have marked our lives since we know it. It is impossible to come to Caracas, the capital of Venezuela and not visit the famous "Parque del Este" today called "Generalísimo Francisco de Miranda" in honor of the hero of the country.
In this beautiful place there used to be beautiful gardens, a beautiful ship that was said to be the exact replica of the ship that brought the conqueror of America "Admiral Christopher Columbus". There were also a lot of beautiful animals that the children adored and everyone took pictures for the memory. I remember my favorite place was in the gardens next to the ship, there we played and had fun.

Memories of my childhood
When I was about 11 years old my mom brought me for the first time to visit my brothers who worked in Caracas, that was an incredible experience because I had never seen such tall buildings, nor had I ever seen so many cars on beautiful highways and avenues of a city. I remember that we arrived on a Friday and on Saturday my family organized a ride to the park, there were quite a few of them, between cousins, my brothers and friends, I can never forget that day because it was the first time I rode the subway and went up the escalators; it was very nice to know that everyone took care of me and told me what to do.
You will say what was so exciting about that, but for an 11 year old girl, who had never been out of the country and who only saw all that on TV, it was something great.
This picture I show you was the park that we enjoyed a few years ago, and in that soda fountain next to the lake is where I ate a sandwich for the first time, but it was not just any sandwich, it was called Club House, I do not know if you know it by the same name in your countries, but it is something delicious and there is no Venezuelan in this land that has not eaten a club house sometime in life.
My family that day at the soda fountain occupied almost all the tables and ordered ice cream and sandwiches for everyone but when I saw that bread with french fries and soda I felt in glory; of course I had to share it with my sister because it was too much for me; I can only tell you that I enjoyed pouring pink sauce and eating everything while watching the beautiful scenery of the lake.
Every time I pass by this place it is beautiful to remember that moment, to remember the games, to remember my cousins laughing and making jokes about everything.
That park is still the favorite place of the Caracas family, it is a pity that this government has let the place fall so much; of this image that I show you, not even the palm trees are left. I do not want to fall into the political issue, I prefer to tell you that life went on for that girl who then came to live in this beautiful city and there she walked with her boyfriends, had fun with friends, later took her children and only has beautiful memories.

A few days ago I had my birthday and I went for a walk to a beautiful place called Isla larga, it is an amazing beach with white sand and crystal clear waters, where peace is felt in the breeze, so much that it tucks you in and relaxes your life!
Well this day also has now a memory with our typical "Club house" all my guests in chorus requested from the menu this delicious dish for lunch. That's why I did not hesitate for a minute as soon as I saw the theme of the BOM to bring you the elaboration and show you a little of our gastronomic tradition, so if someday you come to my country do not hesitate to ask for it in any restaurant where your destination will take you.
Ingredients
- One breast
- 3 tomatoes
- lettuce
- 4 eggs
- tomato sauce
- mayonnaise
- mustard
- ham and cheese
- potatoes
Mode of preparation

Clean the breast and cut it into milanesa or thin steaks, season and marinate. After a few minutes we grill the breast. Meanwhile we clean the tomatoes and cut into slices, wash the lettuce and dip it for a while in vinegar, then wash it in plenty of water and let it drain.

We sauté the eggs and prepare the sauces in containers.
Then we are going to place the breads on the griddle and brown them on both sides. Now we begin to assemble our sandwich as follows: we spread 4 breads of sauce, in each bread we place ham and cheese, in one bread we are going to place lettuce and tomato, in another bread we place the egg and in the third one the breast, as shown in the picture, we put the breads together and place some wooden sticks on each side so they do not move when cutting in an X shape.

Well, we have already assembled our sandwich and we just have to assemble our plate with some delicious french fries with a little salt and tomato sauce on top.
I can only tell you that today I made my family happy because my Club house was very rich and very well done, I hope soon to read your stories and know your favorite sandwich recipes. With this I say goodbye, I apologize for the length of my post but I think I am very passionate about this topic where my most precious memories come together.
Momentos de la vida
Desde que supe del tema del mes no he dejado de pensar en una frase muy bonita que encontré en internet y que quise poner en mi imagen de portada "la vida es corta, hazla feliz" parece una frase cliché pero si nos ponemos analizarla en este momento nos caería muy bien para nuestro BOM.
La vida de todos nosotros que tenemos la fortuna de llegar a esta edad ha pasado por muchos altos y bajos, hemos vivido muchos momentos en distintas circunstancias, con distintos escenarios y una variedad de personas que van y vienen a nuestras vidas por distintas circunstancias.
Que puede ser mejor que vivir esos momentos de forma positiva, resaltando siempre el lado bueno de las cosas, sin buscar más que la felicidad en todo lo que nos sucede y en todo lo que nos rodea.
Ojala los más jóvenes supieran esto a temprana edad y no dejen pasar el tiempo sin disfrutar cada instante que nos brinda la vida.
Hoy quiero recordar instantes de mi vida en que fui muy feliz, quiero recordar a esas personas lindas que han pasado por mi vida; muchos de ellos se han ido a otro plano terrenal, otros simplemente se han tenido que ir a otros países y otros que vinieron a mi vida por una razón específica y luego se marcharon pero dejaron huellas bonitas en mi corazón.
A ellos quiero dedicar este post y también a un lugar especial que a todos los venezolanos ha marcado nuestras vidas desde que lo conocemos. Es imposible venir a Caracas, la capital de Venezuela y no visitar el famoso "Parque del este" hoy llamado "Generalísimo Francisco de Miranda" en honor al prócer de la patria.
En este lugar hermoso existían antes unos jardines hermosos, un barco hermoso que según contaban era la réplica exacta de la embarcación que trajo al conquistador de América "Almirante Cristóbal Colon". También existía una cantidad de animales hermosos a los que los niños adoraban y todos se tomaban fotos para el recuerdo. Recuerdo que mi lugar favorito era en los jardines junto al barco, allí jugábamos y nos divertíamos.
Recuerdos de mi infancia
Cuando yo tenía como 11 años mi mamá me trajo por primera vez a visitar a mis hermanos que trabajaban en Caracas, esa fue una experiencia increíble porque nunca había visto unos edificios tan altos, ni tampoco había visto tanto carro en hermosas autopistas y avenidas de una ciudad. Recuerdo que llegamos un viernes y el día sábado mi familia organizó un paseo para el parque, eran bastantes, entre primos, mis hermanos y amigos, nunca puedo olvidar ese día porque fue la primera vez que andaba en el metro y subía en unas escaleras eléctricas; fue muy bonito saber que todos me cuidaban y me decían que hacer.
Ustedes dirán que tiene eso de emocionante, pero para una niña de 11 años, que nunca había salido del campo y que veía todo aquello solo en la televisión pues era algo grandioso.
Esta imagen que les muestro era el parque que disfrutamos hace unos años, y en esa fuente de soda que esta junto al lago es donde por primera vez comí un sándwich, pero no era un sándwich cualquiera, ese se llamaba Club House, yo no sé si ustedes lo conocen por el mismo nombre en sus países, pero es algo rico y no hay venezolano en esta tierra que no haya comido un club house alguna vez en la vida.
Mi familia ese día en la fuente de soda ocupó casi todas en las mesas y pidieron helados y sándwich para todos pero cuando yo vi aquel pan con papas fritas y refresco me sentí en la gloria; por supuesto yo tenía que compartirlo con mi hermana porque era demasiado para mí; yo solo les puedo decir que disfrute echándole salsa rosada y comiendo de todo mientras veía el hermoso paisaje del lago.
Cada vez que paso por este lugar es hermoso recordar ese momento, recordar los juegos, recordar a mis primos reír y hacer bromas de todo.
Ese parque sigue siendo el lugar preferido de la familia caraqueña, es una pena que este gobierno haya dejado de caer tanto el lugar; de esta imagen que les muestro no quedan ni las palmeras. No quiero caer en el tema político, prefiero contarles que la vida continuó para aquella niña quien luego se vino a vivir a esta hermosa ciudad y allí paseo con sus novios, se divirtió con amigos, llevó después a sus hijos y solo tiene recuerdos bonitos.
Mi cumpleaños feliz
Hace unos días cumplí años y me fui de paseo a un lugar hermoso llamado Isla larga, es una playa increíble de arena blanca y aguas cristalinas, donde la paz se siente en la brisa, ¡tanto que te arropa y relaja la vida!
Pues este día también tiene ahora un recuerdo con nuestro típico "Club house" todos mis invitados en coro solicitaron del menú este rico plato para almorzar. Por eso no dudé ni un minuto en cuanto vi el tema del BOM en traerles la elaboración y mostrarles un poco de nuestra tradición gastronómica, por si algún día vienen a mi país no duden en pedirlo en cualquier restaurant a donde su destino los lleve.
Ingredientes
- Una pechuga
- 3 tomates
- lechuga
- 4 huevos
- salsa de tomate
- mayonesa
- mostaza
- jamón y queso
- papas
Modo de preparar
Limpiamos la pechuga y la cortamos en milanesa o bistec delgaditos, aliñamos y dejamos marinar. Luego de unos minutos ponemos asar la pechuga. Mientras tanto vamos limpiando los tomates y cortamos en rodajas, lavamos la lechuga y la sumergimos un rato en vinagre, luego la lavamos en abundante agua y dejamos escurrir.
Sofreímos los huevos y preparamos las salsas en envases.
Luego vamos a colocar los panes sobre la plancha y doramos por ambos lados. Ahora comenzamos armar nuestro sándwich de la siguiente manera: untamos 4 panes de salsa, en cada pan colocamos jamón y queso, en un pan vamos a colocar lechuga y tomate, en otro pan colocamos el huevo y en el tercero la pechuga, así como se ve en la imagen, juntamos los panes y colocamos unos palillos de madera en cada lateral para que no se muevan al cortar en forma de X.
Papas fritas
Bien, pues ya hemos armado nuestro sándwich y solo nos queda armar nuestro plato con unas ricas papas fritas bañadas con un poquito de sal y salsa de tomate por encima.
Solo les puedo decir que hoy hice feliz a mi familia porque mi Club house me quedó muy rico y muy bien hecho, espero pronto leer sus historias y conocer sus recetas de sándwich favorito. Con esto me despido, disculpen lo extenso de mi post pero creo que me apasiono mucho con este tema donde compaginan mis recuerdos más preciados.

Last year, I visited Parque del Este. It's not what it used to be, but still, a good place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. However, none of the food places were working.
I really want to go back but sometimes I think it would be a reason to lower my spirits instead of raising them. I spent so many beautiful moments there with my children, my nephews, that I would be sad to see it like this. I'd better keep the good things.
The club house was good, I didn't know that for it to be well done, the bread must be baked.
The park is still pleasant to walk through, but the few remaining animals are neglected. However, it is worth going and crossing the bridge over the highway to Bolivar Park and taking pictures of Avila from there.
And I didn't know about the baked bread and the clubhouse. I've never made one. I've always eaten them in a cafeteria. Good luck in the BOM, Abrazos!

That's right my dear Silver Butterfly, that park keeps the best memories of many caraqueños that week after week we went there to have fun and have a good time. Recently that was the meeting place with some former coworkers and we spent a nice afternoon lying on the grass, laughing a lot.

Oh yes, that sandwich is delicious; this day I sent it to my husband and my son for lunch and they both congratulated me. I think it's the first time I make it nice and tasty.
I think that before I didn't grill the bread, that's why when I cut it, it didn't look good.

Asi es, son distintas etapas, al principio me llevaron mis hermanos pero luego yo crfecì y era la que me encargaba de llevar a los sobrinos y primos mas pequeños, mas tarde llevaba a mis hijos. (Y mejor ni te cuento de los novios) :) :) :)
