March Madness Buzzing Around

in Silver Bloggers2 years ago

Change Of Season

Last month of our 'hot season', not much rain normally, who knows with changes of late. Cyclone Freddie turned North to Malawi where they are suffering loss of life and extreme flooding, thankfully Freddie now powered down after bouncing around the Mozambique Channel wrecking havoc in it's wake.

March is the month of many butterflies, perhaps during the lockdowns one took note of what was happening more in the garden. Lawns not being cut with small flowers on weeds attracting more butterflies, if we don't get rain or know it will arrive in a day or two I never cut lawn or it ends up burnt in heat of the day.

March madness butterflies dance, chase and flit around in top form with little rain around to bother them at all. Here are some not named this time round, many not captured through the lens at all, they simply move too fast.

Standing guard first fresh Strelizia reginae flower looked amazing against the extremely blue sky, a symbol of freedom and immortality, splendid grandeur in a plant indigenous to South Africa now grown around the world.

IMG_3211.JPG

Impatiens walleriana, also known as busy Lizzie loves shaded cooler area to bring colour back in, enjoys a little water to drink. With the extreme heat they wilt and die, be sure to place where early morning sun or late after sun filters through for them to enjoy.

IMG_3216.JPG

A plant I can relate to not enjoying the heat of the midday sun! To keep me in check and good balance loads of shade during all seasons.

Bottlebrush (Callistemon) an Australian plant, put on a display which stunned me, one cylindrical clusters and no more, must be the madness of this month.

Local events we hope will lead to our government starting to implement ways to right the wrongs over the last few decades, a National Shutdown action has been called to make them aware of the dissatisfaction of the people. What is worrying, after the July riots of 2021, the country is like dry tinder, running amok burning tyres, stopping access to roads, airports is not constructive. Let us hope this does not turn into another ugly event to mar the month of March. Methodically eating away the moral fiber of our peoples....

IMG_3175.JPG

Our immediate towns and villages, still on-going sewerage running into the streets, parks, rivers and sea. Electricity another hurdle not being faced squarely on, intermittent telecommunications due to bad supply of electricity (theft of batteries at cellphone towers), absolute extremely hard for those battling to keep the doors of business open, open!

Hello dear friend @joanstewart good day
It's good that the cyclone has vanished, I'm only sorry for the losses it has left behind
I love butterfly seasons, the last time we saw many white butterflies here was the pandemic
What beautiful photographs, I appreciate that you let us know
have a beautiful sunday

Hope this finds you well @jlufer, countries and provinces here we refer to as inland encountered heavy flooding, now cleaning up operations, fixing and feeding those left destitute once again.

Still have nature as an outlet, no matter where we live we need to watch the seasons. White butterflies arrive later in the year over here when moving in great numbers, we too had one during lockdown when immense numbers took flight.

!LUV and take care!

Butterflies are too fast for me to capture on film haha madness indeed!

Sorry to hear about Cyclone Freddie causing havoc and destruction in Malawi, there is always something going on now somewhere in our world.

Strelizia reginae we call Bird of Paradise and I really should get one, it has been years since I had one!

Thanks for entering the March madness #bom 😁

Hundreds were killed in Madagascar, Mozambique and Malawi with Cyclone Freddy now recorded as longest lasting tropical cyclone on record.

Butterflies are fast in the heat, seldom sit for long, approach them they flit off.... Plant your Strelizia and enjoy it, very elegant bloom.

You have photographed some amazing elements of nature that are truly amazing. I especially like the flowers and butterflies.

Thanks for kind comments and visiting.

Our cold season is also slowly getting to its end and soon the first butterflies will arrive together with the first blooming flowers on the fields and meadows. I only wished we would have such beautiful huge butterflies and awesome flowers like you have, but you can't have it all, can you 😉

I hope this year will be better, no floods or riots and your government will finally be smart enough to do what it's supposed to do.

By the way, if I was a flower, I might be the "Impatiens walleriana" because I might be the most impatient person in the world - ask Zac 🤣 !LOLZ

Once the warmer weather arrives the fields will be stunning to visit, but then you climb high not low more often than not.

Patience is a matter of sitting in the field and waiting for everything to come to you, pretend you are a 🌻

We stay home, stay alert and hope the sparks don't fly, sadly reality looting/theft will happen, it always does.

!BEER Chill, sit in the field or pretend to Mr Impatience!

I know I have said that last year too, but this year I want to learn to be more patient and take more photos of insects and other little things ... I want to patiently search and wait 😉

With a !BEER or two it would be easier to sit and wait patiently 😅

Hopefully your and my hopes will come true and reality will be nicer this time.

Walk out enjoy flask of tea/coffee watching the world wake up on the slopes in the fields instead of full hike to the top 😆 also enjoyable.

So far so good 09h00 no negative news, small incidents on some roads.

I would enjoy waking up anywhere, as long as I am far away from my job 😂 !LOLZ

Maybe it stays that way with no bad news, I hope for you 🙏

Out in the open always rewarding, day went off quietly in our region. I think everyone stayed home rather than subject themselves to possibility of threat after the last times events.

!LUV have a great day.

Let's pray that the cyclone won't create any havoc in other parts again.. And the chaos in your country must be put to an end before the situation worsens.

Your photos of butterflies and flowers are beautiful by the way...

Cyclone has wound down after much destruction, every day we wish to see change here at home, strive toward living together as one.

Thanks for kind words and token, always appreciated.

I read on Hive earlier about the flooding in Malawi, sounds bad, and I hope they recover soon.
The pictures were not taken with a lens and are unnamed but still, have your touch to them.

Wishing you a great week ahead.

Much the same here, seeing somewhere different is like a breath of fresh air, knowing you able to feel more at home and welcomed it great!

I really hope things get better over there. It is so exhausting when you see that the problems are accumulating and that at any moment everything can explode. I hope the government takes the necessary measures to calm things down.

I love the Birds of Paradise, here, they are grown a lot and in the building where I live, there are always some in the common garden.

Most are in full agreement with the shutdown, reasons for the shutdown. Pity one radical political party took credit to start the protest action making it questionable.

Flowers are stunning, bring life into surroundings along with birds and insects.

I love these nature reports of yours! Eh, soon we will have spring, and butterflies will reappear.

We have butterflies all year round, different ones appear dazzling us with their beauty.

We've been worried about Freddy, thank goodness he's losing strength! But, hubby tells me all the time that we're still to experience a proper summer storm, so let's hope there's not much damage then!
The things that's been happening certainly is crazy! So far it looks like the authorities are taking control of the strike action. In our area people started noticing tyres & firewood being dropped off in certain spots so had it removed with the help of the CPF, Metro Police & SAPS. Let's hope it doesn't get out of hand and that we have a good Monday!
Thank you for your participation in #bom Joan!

Early change to the weather it would be a lovely change from heat, not storms though I really don't enjoy those!

Security has been on high alert here with neighbourhood watch doing rounds to keep and eye out for anything untoward.

Happy Monday!

The Hive Gamification Proposal

Thanks for update @hivebuzz and support. Happy new week.

All good @joanstewart! You're amazing on Hive! Don't stop now, achieve that new goal!

🙃 slow but sure, always time permitting.

March madness indeed. These are lovely captures amidst the storm. Beauty and madness. Here in our place, forest fires and structural fires have been the cause of madness lately and the dry season. It's supposed to be fire prevention month ironically. Keep safe. Hope things will be better soon.

Some fires happen naturally, yet most are sparked by negligence which is very problematic in our country. Hope the fires are under control, no more loss of land or life unfolds.

Not one word in the western press about the political state of your country, what a strange world we live in.

Media hype more around 'Big Power' problems to spark attention, Africa seldom gets a mention unless we not falling into line...., or they want to take something!

Fair point made there, with a nice pun thrown in for good measure 😂

Truth be told, they attack then take! 🙃
