The Move - Good news, and not so good news

First, my big question to my US Hive friends - how do you turn your liquid $HIVE/$HBD into dollars? I used to have a BinanceUS account, but ditched it ages ago when they did that shady thing (which of course, now I can't remember the specifics of...lol), and didn't worry about it since they didn't even list Hive. I did get a suggestion on Discord (from the lovely @justclickindiva) that I might be able to use Coinbase (not sure if I have an account there yet/still) to sell BTC for cash (once I convert my Hive to BTC), and I'm going to check that out in a bit. But while I'm still trying to figure this out, any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

But now, for the bestest of the good news I mentioned in my title - WE FOUND A PLACE! And not even the place I mentioned in my last post, but it is owned by the same person who showed us that first one. Turns out, her partner in her company (she's a realtor) really didn't like the fact that we have a couple of cats, so he vetoed our application (after $135 in fees to apply). But she felt so bad about our situation that she offered to rent us a different place that she owns herself, and turns out it's a much better fit for us.

I'll talk more about it in future posts (once we've gotten through this hellacious moving process), but for the moment, it's a big weight off our shoulders that we have some place to go. Especially since, after many days of having to vacate our place (including our aforementioned cats and our dog) for hours at a time so that prospective buyers could wander through, our current landlady got a firm offer on her property. Now comes the panic that our new place isn't available until September 1st, and we need to be out of here by... yep, September 1st.

Which brings me to a bit more not so good news. In order to make this move a reality, we need to come up with a minimum of $4,000 dollars (first months rent, moving costs, etc). Cashing out my $HBD and a few weeks of powering down some Hive will get us about halfway there, and we're working on figuring out how to raise the rest (selling stuff, etc). I'd been holding out hope that maybe we wouldn't have to touch my Hive, but looks like it might be the thing that makes it possible. And once in our new place (with our new family configuration - our daughters are moving elsewhere, and our son is staying with us), I'll have tons of content and more time to share here, so I can build my stack back up. I did move the Hive earmarked for #HivePUD (Hive Power Up Day) prizes into my savings account, so I can distribute it once I have time to go through everything.

In the meantime though, again if anyone can suggest a relatively easy (because my brain is beyond melted at this point) way of converting my crypto to cash, I'm all ears. And I'm wicked looking forward to catching up with everything around the Hivesphere!

Oh, and almost forgot to mention - no, the picture in my thumbnail isn't our current packing process (I wish it was that neat and organized...lmao!). Turns out Canva now has a nifty AI image generator (called Magic Media) that I used to create the image.

Hurray 🎉🙌

Sorry to hear of all the trials you've been thru lately in life 😬 I agree with Justclickindiva's suggestion about Coinbase being very easy, but you might find Litecoin (LTC) faster & cheaper (in fees) than BTC. I usually buy LTC with Coinbase and send it to Hive-Engine where I sell it for HIVE, so the reverse process would probably be my preferred cash-out if I had to do it. GOOD LUCK with everything! 🍀

So glad to read you got a new place. Sucks about the timing, though. I hope you can get everything sorted so it goes smoothly. Even if it doesn't, on the bright side at some point it will be a story in the past and you'll be settled in the new place.

I hope you find a good answer. I have a Coinbase account but I have never withdrew anything from Hive with it. I only really have experience moving BCH with it which I think has a lower transaction fees than BTC but don't quote me on that. Even with that it's been quite some time since I have completed any tasks. Sorry I have no solutions for you. I know you said you reached out in Dischord, maybe asking in Team USA there if you haven't already yet. I could ask there for you as well :-) I look to do and figure out doing the opposite of what your trying to do, haha.

Best wishes on your new place and look forward to seeing more of you again.

If you have a wallet or exchange account for Bitcoin, you can go into your wallet on PeakD and find Simpleswap under "Exchanges Services" ... you should be able to swap your Hive to Bitcoin and then sell your Bitcoin on any exchange.

That's great news, moving in the right direction!

I can't help on the US market unfortunately, but I was told LTC fees are much better compared to BTC, so if you find a withdrawal route, maybe check out the Hive to LTC to USD option as well. Good luck

Yay! I’m glad you found a new place. Stay safe!

As for finding a better withdrawal route, I can’t share much, but I think it’s better to choose a coin with lower fees compared to BTC.

Hi lovely lady 😘 I'm glad I came across your post as I missed the previous one when you posted it. Now I know what's going on with you and I'm both happy and sad to learn your life is a rollercoaster of worries.

Trading and studying keeps me busy and I'm less active now but I'm glad to read you're (sort of) going to be ok.

Take care dear Tracy and I hope to see you settled in your new home and back to Hive soon 😊 😘

I can't use Binance either. Or Coinbase. Or any other US exchange. I haven't personally swapped yet at simpleswap but I've read others' experience, they have nothing but good things to say.

Congrats on the move.

Always one door closes another opens, great to learn you found another place to call home with good timing...

Sending !LUV and take care of yourselves, good luck with the move on 1st September which is around the corner.

I'm so glad you found a nice 'cat-friendly' house @traciyork!
Be careful not to pick up heavy stuff during packing!
It must be so frustrating trying to find an exchange, I've used Binance but moved it right away to Luno so I could withdraw. Bittersweet, I know, but thank heavens Hive is there to come to the rescue!

Have a quick question in Discord.

That is fantastic news about your new place. It's often funny how something better turns up after what you thought you wanted falls through!

Hey @traciyork, here is a little bit of BEER from @pixresteemer for you. Enjoy it!

Did you know that <a href='https://dcity.io/cityyou can use BEER at dCity game to buy cards to rule the world.

Hmm...maybe @brianoflondon's @v4vapp + Coinbase?
