What was new and interesting for you this winter?
I never cease to be amazed by the amazing natural innovations this winter. In January, I saw flocks of Waxwings and one such bird flew to my bird feeder.
My workplace is by the window so I can watch the birds. Today I looked out the window and saw a Fieldfare. It's an amazing thing! After all, he was supposed to fly south in the fall to spend the winter there and return home in the spring.
This bird was sitting in a tree with the rest of the regular visitors to the bird canteen, but she did not pay attention to the feeder. She wasn't interested in sunflower seeds because they weren't her food.

I wasn't ready for that. My camera wasn't ready either. There was an 18-35mm lens on it. But I knew that I had no choice and needed to get a few shots in time because the bird could fly away at any moment.

Yes, it happened. The bird did not sit for long, took off, and flew away towards the forest.
By the way, it is clear that the bird is not comfortable sitting, it has shrunk like a ball because it is -10 C outside and the bird is cold.

I replaced the lens in the camera and got ready to wait for the bird again.
My expectations were rewarded. I noticed that the bird appeared at the aronia bush and started eating the berries. Yes, berries are the main food of Fieldfare! These berries have been waiting for this bird since autumn.
In the evening, I showed these photos to my mom and she said that she had already seen this bird near the Aronia bush.
Or maybe Fieldfare has already flown back because of the warm weather? Although the thermometer began to drop down February will still show its evil character.
