Philippine Brown Shrike (Lanius cristatus lucionensis)

I like to photograph birds during sunrise and sunset. specially when the area has few visitors. Althou some birds got used to people most still get scared. The beautiful brown shrikes there dont get scared anymore and would allow me to get closed. thou i noticed it will give me a dagger look. I sometimes saw it having insects in its beak. It's a territorial bird. specially when hunting for foods. it does not like sharing. i dont think i have seen it with a partner. it is always alone.

amazing shot, the sunlight makes the bird's feathers look more beautiful, the golden effect makes the feathers look more alive.

if i recall correctly i shot it either during sunrise or sunset :)

Shrikes are awesome, we have a few different species here and they do allow some closer distances. Awesome clicks!

Great photos! Have you seen the corpses of mice or lizards that these birds nurture on sharp branches?

thanks. sadly i did not see corpses. but i did saw live snakes and mice being attach to barb wires.
