On one of my trips to Lower Austria this spring we were able to find a nice new place where Bee Eaters live and fly around. They are nesting in a Loess wall and hunt for bees and other insects near the wine fields. Because this Loess wall is situated in between a walking route these birds are used to humans. A lot of people pass by the walls several times a day and therefore it is pretty easy to get close to these birds.

Until tuday i already now several places where I can find these beautiful birds in Austria and also one in Hungary. I hope next spring and summer I can visit several nice places here in Austria again. I would also like to visit some places in Hungary and in the Czech Republic but this is depending on the Covid-19 Regulation if I will be allowed to visit them next year. I hope the vaccine that is in the production at the moment will give us back the "normal" we used to know.

The beeater is one of the most beautiful birds, and you managed to capture it in flight, it is worthy of praise!👍
Thank you, i know several places here in Austria where they live in earth walls. So if you know where they live you nearly have the guarantee to take some nice pictures. They fly around their habitat very frequently so getting some nice shots even in flight is only a matter of time.
Very beautiful colourful birds, excellent photography. Hope you manage to travel to see when warmer weather arrives.
Thank you, yes we will see how this COVID Situation will develop.
What a colorful bird 😃
It is such a spectacular bird and your photos are exceptional! Thanks for posting to the #featheredfriends community
