There is only one place in Austria where you can find the Great Bustard birds and this is Lake Neusiedler. The wetlands and the meaddows are a good place for this birds. But still their habitat is endangered here and there are only a few of this birds living in Austria. At least their numbers are slowly growing. But a bad year in reproduction can be very bad for this species. The male birds has this very beautiful colors and this very special tail feathers. It is among the heaviest flying birds. Till now I had already twice the chance to take some pictures of it. Since it is only living at one spot in Austria it is pretty difficult for me to find it. But Last time at our visit at Lake Neusiedler I had luck and I could take several pictures of it.
