Feathered Friends From Thailand Part 2

in Feathered Friends2 years ago

Hello, hello, hello

Here is my second post about the birds I managed to spot and photograph in Thailand.
If you missed the first part - here is the link.

Today I will start with the humble zebra dove, called also barred ground dove, or barred dove in short. This bird was not new for me. During my first visit in Thailand, I saw plenty of them and I loved their soft coo. Not surprisingly there were plenty of them everywhere.

It was an extremely hot April in Thailand. If I had to trust my phone app, the temperature during day reached 40°C, which means it was much higher and I felt like I am in an oven. That is why my short photo shooting took place early in the morning. Not that it made a big difference, it was still hot. I sat on a bencn under a tree and heard nice song from above.

Google Lens suggested this beautiful yellow bird to be Common Iora. Very attractive birdie with lovely melodic voice.

Next, I saw another bird close by. It was standing with open beak, but no, it was not singing. My guesses were, the bird was hot and bothered. I searched again with Google Lens and it appeared to be a bulbul, even more precisely a Streak-eared Bulbul. Hope I did the id correct.

And that's all I found in a short time in the garden of the house where the kids are living. I can imagine what I could see if I had more time to visit other places. But for now, that's all.

Happy birding and keep on sharing your photos and stories in our community of Feathered Friends.

I'm glad you found some time for a bit of bird watching while you were there! These are all beauties!
It was so wonderful to get to talk to you during @tengolotodo's live show in the Ecency discord! Thanks for all your kind words. ♥️

I can't help myself but to look around for everything that is flying, hopping, crawling. 😀
Time was short for birdwatching, but birds came to me and I wasn't looking for them.

It was a great pleasure to take part in the Talk Show and to be among you. Such a friendly atmosphere. Thank you again, Melinda for all your help and devotion. ❤

It was such a lovely time during the Talk Show, sorry I had to leave earlier.
I am looking forward to the next one. 😀

Nice captures! Getting those fast little ones in the middle of the bushes is no easy task! Ps. try an app called Merlin for bird identification abroad; trust me, you'll love it! ;) !LUV

Thank you so much!
Of course, Merlin app. How could I forget it? I know that I tried it once, had to remove it from the tablet, cause it is very old machine with little space, but I can install the app on the phone. Thanks for reminding me about it.

comment, not for the !LUV bot. 😅 !LOLZLooks like your comment there is for @pardinus's

I wonder if glass coffins will become popular one day?

Very beautiful birds. I especially liked Iora, bright yellow.

Thank you very!
It was the only coloured bird I saw then, the yellow one.

its pretty hot out there but same here. News says heat index reaches 42 degrees celsius. I hope there are waters for the birds to drinks and cool down in a very hot day. they too can experience heat stroke

Oh dear, This is too much -over 40 degrees.
Yes, birds got water and birdbath in the house garden. Still, they choose to hide in the shades.

thtas' great! I guess 40+ degrees can be felt o only in highly urbanized cities.

Wonderful captures once again 😍

Thank you, Barbara!😀
