Hello Feathered Friends Lovers,
Welcome to #SMaP Show Me A Photo Contest Round 58!
I have very good suggestion from @corvidae, which I am going to use for this round. Not surprisingly she suggested CORVIDS (CORVIDAE). Also known as crow family, it consists of crows, ravens, rooks, jackdaws, jays, magpies, treepies, choughs, and nutcrackers. As you can see this is a big variety of birds, who live everywhere and more importantly, very close to us. So, I believe you can find this theme not so hard and you will show photos of some of these clever birds.
And here it is:
The new theme
CORVIDS (CORVIDAE)
As examples I chose photos of magpie...
... hooded crow...
... and jackdaw.
Now is your turn and let me see your photos of birds, but first read the rules below⬇️
Rules
Show me your photo of a bird, following these rules:
- The photo must be your own.
- Post in the community Feathered Friends
- You may add more photos, but you should state which one is your entry, otherwise the first will be taken into account.
- Tell us something about your photo/s.
- Your photo must follow the weekly theme.
- Please put the link of your entry in the comment section of the contest post here.
- Put in the title of your post that this is an entry for the contest. (Optional)
- Use #smap as a tag.
If you create quality post with more images and interesting story about them, making extra effort can give you bigger upvotes and attract curators. Keep that in mind.

Some great pics, the closeups are fabulous.
It's nice to finally have a tame species of bird to photograph.
Wonderful! Thank you so much @sketch.and.jam for entering the contest again!
I finally learned that jays are in the corvid family lol. I used to think crows and ravens were the only corvids and I rarely get a chance to photograph those guys. Fortunately just last week I got these jays on a hike.
I did not know either. Here we have Eurasian jay. Happy to spot it in our park.
Your photos are awesome. These close-ups are outstanding.

Thanks for entering the contest again!
Yay here is my entry! I went on a field trip for this one.
This round will not be complete without your entry. 🙂
😊
Crows cawing around your house at night? We only see them in flight, not very often they sure do know how to announce themselves, look forward to lovely birds this week.
Actually I don't hear them at night. There are plenty of crows, jackdaws and magpies around.
While I am writing this comment, a jackdaw is walking on the rooftop of the neighbouring building and I watch it through the window.
They are extremely clever, they make slightly different sounds whether general chat or a warning call for danger I believe.
Hooray!!! I am so excited for this round's entries!!!
Is that jackdaw missing part of a leg?
I don't know for sure if the jackdaw is missing a leg. I found this photo among my archive and it was a single shot.
A fun creative suggestion @nelinoeva and @corvidae. I agree with @joanstewart, crows are usually heard 'arking' in the distance or flying over our home. But, one never knows when a bird belonging to the CORVID family might present itself.
Is that bird missing a leg? Life must be too hard for it 😟
Not sure as I have no more shots of this jackdaw to see better. Hope not.

I'm so happy you described which birds were CORVIDS (CORVIDAE) for I had no idea the jays were in the same family as the crows and ravens.
I just happened to have a slew of bluejay photos and even a video in my new post I'm entering in the contest at: https://peakd.com/hive-106444/@porters/a-beautiful-sublime-sunday-rejoicing-in-the-sunshine
It was interesting to know how many birds are from that family. I did not know until recent the jays are also from the same.
Thank you very much for submitting your entry!
I saw so many crows here in my hometown will participate in this contest I will do it
I am looking forwarc to it.
