Today we were lucky to see a small woodpecker. As soon as I started to approach the edge of the forest I immediately heard a drum roll. But I couldn’t see him right away. But I took a closer look. He hid among the branches and jumped on the branches and looked for food.
It’s good that the wind died down and the branches of the tree almost did not sway and did not interfere with se
eing him. It's a pity the sun was almost hidden behind the clouds.
The woodpecker was small but moved very quickly. I didn't have to run after him much.
It’s good that he hardly paid any attention to me, but was busy with his business of finding food for himself.
Sometimes it seemed to me that he was just playing with me and showing me how fast, agile he is and how well he jumps on tree branches.
I watched him for quite some time. He didn't fly away. He apparently liked to look for food in this tree. But then I carefully moved away from the tree and walked further into the forest.
those pictures are wonderful, and the little bird really behaved like a model.

The red colour on the back of its head is astounding
Nice shots! They do are difficult to photograph, I normally don't have time to even point the camera before they flee.
