Autumn this year is quite warm. A short period of snow gave way to beautiful weather. Sun, warmth. there is almost no wind. In the city, the leaves from the trees have almost flown off and cover the surface of the earth. For rooks there is freedom.
Under the foliage there is a great variety of different larvae, bugs, and midges. Rooks spend their days turning over large quantities of leaves in search of food. Apparently it is in great abundance. The rooks' feathers are shiny and glossy. It is clear that the rooks are very well-fed.
Even in summer they didn't look so good. And now they sometimes eat so much that they can hardly fly up onto tree branches. After eating, they sit for a long time motionless on tree branches from where they look around at their relatives.
As a rule, they gather in small flocks of 8-12 individuals and thus stay together. They have a bird on duty on the ground. She looks around to warn her relatives of danger. At her signal, they fly up in a flock and sit in the trees to wait out the danger.
Then they fly down again as soon as the danger disappears. Signaling birds react to literally everything. You just have to get a little closer to at least one bird from the flock.
At the same time, they behave quietly. The usual loud croaking is not heard. Only the rustle of leaves breaks the silence of the park, when birds deftly turn over a heap of leaves with their beaks.
Such beautiful feathers colors !
