Also called a Rock Pigeon, this is a very beautiful and strong bird.
But why is this masked fellow looking like this?
He arrived to take a bath in our garden, just as he does every day and they also seem to have taken up residence here now. So our little wild zoo continues to grow and just because we made our garden the same as the surrounding nature. I do not like grass lawns in a small garden and I also don't like sterile paving blocks, as they ban the residents of nature from visiting. So we have it all from dragonflies, squirrels, birds and everything else.

The speckled pigeon (Columba guinea), or (African) rock pigeon, is a pigeon that is a resident breeding bird in much of Africa south of the Sahara. It is a common and widespread species in open habitats over much of its range, although there are sizable gaps in its distribution. It is sometimes referred to as the Guinea pigeon due to its similar coloring to some species of guineafowl.

Finally flapping and then he left.
Although Wikipedia says above that they live in open spaces and that's why their old name is Rock Pigeons, this is no longer true as due to a lack of food they have invaded all of the towns here.
In this picture below you can see their old home and the other pictures above is their new home.
I have some great news, but it will hold until tomorrow. A hint is that "They are back".

The rock pigeon has such beautiful colors! I have a birdbath colocated with a few feeders and I love watching them take their morning bath and fluffing their feathers out to dry.
We are taking away so many habitats with our progress. Lovely photos! Thanks so much,

Oh yes and the Rock Pigeon is even more colorful when I snap him in the late afternoon sun.

We popped out now to a park to get the full moon.
