RE: Crows and Ducks

So nice to get close to nature and see the birds up close and personal. I live very close to a nature reserve and there is also a large pond nearby. I watch with fascination sometimes what goes on in the local natural habitat and it can be quite an eye opening experience. It might sounds silly but I get to see so closely and now have a greater appreciation of the dynamics of how birds actually manage to fly.

We get all sorts of birds near me with plenty of crows. I also see a lot of geese and swans. But the best part for me is that sometimes in the evening or night on rare occasions I have been fortunate enough to see a bat flying close by to my building. They fly like maniacs, they're crazy things. But because you don't see them that often it's always a kind of magical experience when you catch a glimpse of one.

Oh that is so nice you live near a nature reserve and a pond. Indeed it is fun to just observe the wild life that hangs out there.

I have also got to see bats flying around. Indeed they fly quite chaotically. You can stand right below them and throw food up in the air and they will catch them sometimes.. Its pretty amazing.. like feeding seagulls lol!

Oh man you're experience of bats is way better than mine! Lol! There's just no way I would have time to throw food for them to catch because they fly by very quickly and as it's night time it's difficult to see where they go.

Yes, the nature reserve and pond is small but it makes such a difference I can tell you. Moving to where I live now was the first step away from the city. But I'm still nowhere near close enough to a truly rural setting, which I think is the goal now. Just so long as I'm not too far from a train station I will be happy to find a remote rural village with local shops and a pub and tuck myself away there.

It was pretty cool.. You can hear them catch it if you listen closely.

Ah very nice, sounds like you have a nice taste of the country life where you are.. I feel ya, there are no train stations around where I live so everything is about an hour away.
