Greetings friends!
We have very hot weather in Siberia, so I decided not to go far and go for a photo hunt in the nearest forest. But in general, this is not a very good idea, since at the end of July, birds grow up nestlings, and they often travel, so at these times there are very few birds in our forests. Adult birds teach young ones the latest tricks of survival in the wild, after which, in the fall, they will become independent.
I walked past the old cemetery and did not meet anyone there, although there are usually quite a few birds. It is full of insects and plant food, as well as birdhouses.
When I reached the forest, in the bushes I met a willow warbler . Her nestlings flew around her, there were a lot of them, about 5 pieces. I very often notice that it is in these birds that the survival rate of nestlings is high, while in other birds about 1-3 survive.
Then I went to the hills, the road is long and difficult, and I did not see birds on the way. Unless, somewhere in the distance, the sound of a lone woodpecker was heard.
And on the hill, as expected, I met these birds of prey - common buzzard.
Every year these guys come here to ride. In the same place. By the way, in most languages, these birds are called mouse-catchers.
These predators flew around me and shouted, shouted at each other, probably reporting me.
After about half an hour, they got tired, and besides, I teased them with sounds from the speaker, one of the birds sat down to rest on a tree.
I counted about three birds. Just like last year. The survival rate of chicks is poor. By the way, in this territory, as I also call it "the territory of the corvids", the crow lives, probably it is the main reason for eating eggs in buzzards. Or maybe it is the parents themselves who destroy the weakest chicks, throwing them out of the nest. Yes, nature is cruel.
Leaving them alone, I reached the descent of the hills, where there is open space, and saw them. Siberian stonechat.
I haven't seen these little birds here for 2 years! I already thought that those who nested here died or found other places. But no! The dynasty continues! I am very glad that they continue to fly here.
After resting, I turned back. And on the way I met this red-haired beauty.
Be careful squirrel, buzzards live here that hunt rodents.
By the way, her fur is already turning gray, it's strange. Indeed, it is still very long before winter, but for now the weather is hot.
That's all! I am waiting for you in my blog, good luck everyone!
Nest with so much Dedication and Patience. It's always great to watch when they build their Nests. Stay blessed.@ratel, Birds build their
You're right. I saw it myself. Once, in the meadows, a female stonechat was not at all shy about my presence and wore blades of grass next to me.
Good to know that. Have a peaceful time ahead.
Wonderful assortment of little friends to see on your walk...😊
Oh no, this time is less than usual. But in the spring there are sooo many of them.
Отличные фото. Какое большое количество животных и пернатых обитает вокруг.
Really great photos of the buzzards! Even though you didn't find as many as usual this is still a wonderful selection of birds! It has been really hot here too.
