Yesterday I decided to go for reconnaissance in the coastal forest on the very outskirts of the city.
And I remind you that these are screenshots of raw, unedited photos, so the quality is low. I'm just in a hurry to share with you as soon as possible.
Arriving at the place, I saw black kites flying around. And suddenly one of them sat on a branch. I came closer to take a photo and saw that he was holding a fish in his paws. Happy catch!
In the meantime, many large ice floes have washed up by the river, which are melting under the sun.
And here comes the tree pipit! He sang a song and flew from one tree to another, periodically descending to the ground.
Siberian Chiffchaff also arrived. And she competed with the tree pipit above in the photo. It was like a fight for territory. Of course, without a fight, they just stood next to each other and sang with all their might.
And nearby, a great spotted woodpecker (female) was hollowing out a hollow.
O! And this is probably my old friend yellowhammer! I have been meeting this friend in the same place since 2017. He is always there.
From the side of the forest there is no more snow, but it is rather damp.
The nuthatches flew in pairs. And it seems that they expected me to treat them. Not far from this place there are trails for running and cycling, and birds are fed there, they are tame. And these two are most likely from there.
And here come the female chaffinch. Males arrive first and occupy territories, and females arrive a week later.
And this redwing one sat at the very top of the tree and sang his unintelligible song. It is strange to see a thrush sitting quietly. They usually walk the earth in search of worms.
While I was admiring the thrush, I saw a female gray-headed woodpecker not far away inspecting the trees.
And in the thick bushes there was a pair of goldfinches. Several burdock thickets grew nearby, and they periodically left the bushes and sat down to eat burdock seeds.
And this is what our city river looks like now. Ice drift.
While I was standing on the shore, a seagull flew over me.
And then I heard a quack, and I saw a couple of goosander flopped into the water.
Had never seen a fishing kite! 🙂 Great shots!
thank you!
Отличные фото. Коршуны оказываются не прочь и рыбкой полакомиться.
Весна!!! Ты даже решил показать за один раз много птичек :)
Классный рыбак!
