๐ฆ The lesser spotted woodpecker (Picoides minor , synonym of Dryobates minor)

A very cute little woodpecker the size of a sparrow. I meet them much less often than the great spotted woodpeckers.
This species is remarkable not only for its size, but also for the fact that they almost never peck at the bark of trees, it is too thick for them. They prefer to examine and inspect the thin bark on the branches of trees, various breaks.
And only very rarely are they interested in the thick bark of a tree, this is when this bark is already loose, rotten, and therefore it is easy to destroy it.
This is most often seen in late autumn, when these guys roam together with other bird species.
