🦉 Siberian chiffchaff (Phylloscopus (collybita) tristis)
📚 Phylloscopus Greek: phyllon foliage, skopos seeker, observer
📚 collybita collybista (lat.), kollybistēs, kollybos (Greek) money changer, small coin (name - for a song similar to the sound of falling coins)
📚 tristis sad, gloomy, mournful
This little bird arrives the very first among the birds of this family. Already towards the end of April you can already hear their songs in the forests. It's funny that it is the Siberian subspecies that has a full-fledged song, which is quite perky in my opinion, despite the latin name of the bird.
Also, a little later, these birds can be heard in cities. In groves, parks, and even in yards. Although the bird sings while sitting high on a tree, it prefers to build a nest on the ground. I often saw them in bushes or branches of fallen trees.
