🦉 The willow tit (Poecile montanus)

  • Poecile poikilis (Greek) an unidentified small bird mentioned in ancient texts
  • montanus (lat .) : mōns, montis mountain, mountain range, montanus mountain

THIS agile, mobile tit lives in any forest, and in large numbers. This is probably the most numerous bird in the forests. However, this bird can be found not only in the forest, but also in city parks and groves. In these places, the bird willingly visits bird feeders, and even begs for food from people walking there.

With the onset of cold weather in autumn, the bird fluffs up its feathers greatly, for which it received the name - puffball.
With the arrival of spring, the males begin to sing their melancholic whistling songs, which contrasts greatly with their hoarse calls.
The bird is not afraid of people even in the wild, and can easily go about its business knowing that a person is not dangerous to it.
