🦉 The European robin (Erithacus rubecula)
- Erithacus erithakos (Greek) unidentified small bird in
the works of ancient authors; erythros (Greek, lat.) red- rubecula ruber (lat.) red, reddish, rubeculus diminished. by ruber
Wonderful beautiful birds, but unfortunately they are few in number in the forests of my city. Literally one or two birds in the entire forest. By the way, we call it something like "dawnie", all because of its color. Her chest looks like the sky at dawn.
Despite the fact that this bird is so fragile and small, it is quite hardy. Arrives in the second wave of migratory birds, and at this time in my region it can be cold and even sometimes frosty in the mornings. It also flies away late, later than all insectivorous birds. There were times when I met them at the end of October, just before winter.
