🦉 The coal tit or cole tit (Periparus ater)

  • Peri (Greek) very, hugely
  • Parus (lat.) Tit
  • ater (lat.) black, dark

This species of tit prefers to live in coniferous forests, but they are also found in mixed forests. That is why I do not often meet these birds, since there are mixed forests around my city. But in early spring I often see these birds. Males sit on branches and sing mating songs, often doing this from all sides, which leads to their fatigue, and they fall asleep right there.

With the arrival of summer they seem to disappear, and appear in small numbers in the fall, and most likely in flight, since I did not notice any in the city in winter either.
