🦉 The long-tailed tit or long-tailed bushtit (Aegithalos caudatus)
- Aegithalos (Greek): tit
- caudatus (lat.): tailed
These fluffy balls with a long tail live all year round in the forests. They live in small flocks, and by all accounts these flocks are family, related, that is, they can be parents with children and their friends. In winter, these birds have a hard time, harder than, for example, tits and nuthatches. They have short beaks, with which they cannot crack nuts into small pieces, so they are forced to eat small seeds that they can eat.
Since these birds are very friendly, of course they participate in mixed bird flocks together with other bird species.
But with the arrival of spring, these birds seem to disappear. However, this is not so, they simply behave secretly and quietly, do their household chores, such as building a nest, feeding children.
