🦉 The common whitethroat or greater whitethroat (Curruca communis)
- Curruca is an unidentified bird name mentioned in the poems of the ancient Roman poet Juvenal
- communis (lat.) ordinary, common.
These birds arrive in the second wave, around the end of April or the beginning of May, depending on the weather, when the snow has almost melted. It is easy to spot a male singing a song while sitting in the bushes. The birds are inhabitants of bushes, where they spend all their time.
Males often raise their head feathers, which makes their head larger and more angular. I would even say that a smooth head with pressed feathers is rare for them.
The bird allows you to approach it, but you need to keep your distance. If the bird starts to croak hoarsely while singing, it means it is worried and you need to move back.

What a magnificent view! The chirping sound of this bird reminds me of the beauty of spring. I love how the males raise their head feathers to appear more attractive to the females.
