🦉 The brambling (Fringilla montifringilla)

  • Fringilla (lat.) Finch; fi nco (old German)
  • montifringilla lat .: mōns, montis mountain, mountain range

I meet these birds in the forests of my city exclusively in the spring, when they are in the mating season. However, by the end of spring they are simply no longer in the forest. Therefore, I go far out of town to the wild coniferous forest where they are always there. And so it was that time, I repeatedly met family flocks of adult birds and teenagers.

The adults in these pictures don't look very pretty because they are shedding their fur. And the juveniles are shown swimming in a puddle.
I carefully lay down on the ground and took pictures of them so as not to scare them.
