🦉 The white wagtail (Motacilla alba)
- Motacilla lat .: mōto, mōtare move continuously, -cilla tail (cilla like a tail - only in ornithology, erroneous established name)
- alba (lat.) white

It is difficult to confuse this beautiful graceful bird with any other. With the arrival of spring, when the weather is already warm and streams of melted snow run along the roads, these birds arrive. At first they can be seen on the outskirts of the city along the banks of rivers running on ice floes. It is not for nothing that in the old days people said "the wagtail breaks the ice with its tail."

After some time, you can already see these birds running along the sidewalks and in the courtyards of houses.

It feeds on insects, although it may seem that it is simply running back and forth. However, I made a video in slow-mo and watched it and saw extremely small insects that the wagtail grabbed.
