The forest brother of the familiar to us white wagtail. It differs, as you may have noticed, not only in its nondescript appearance, but also in its voice. This is especially noticeable during the mating season. Performing its ringing call, the male rises vertically upwards, and then smoothly glides downwards.
It is not easy to spot the bird in a tree, but it is even more difficult to spot it on the ground. The bird literally blends in with the ground due to its coloring, and if it stands still, you will not see it at all. On the ground, the bird walks looking for food in the form of small insects, sometimes shaking its tail, after all, it is from the wagtail family.
