These adorable plump birds have some rather strange behavior. With the onset of cold weather, they fly closer to the cities. It starts around the end of autumn, in October. At this time, they can be seen in the nearby forests. There they eat rowan seeds, which they pull out from the berries. If it is quite cold, then they eat fatty seeds of the ash-leaved maple. When the snow falls, they are already moving directly to the cities. They can be seen in parks and courtyards. At this time, they are patient with people, you can admire them.

And with the advent of spring, they begin the mating season, and quietly disappear from the cities, and then from the nearby forests. In the summer you will hardly notice them anywhere. They are incredibly secretive, so much so that they even fly without making a sound.
I have only seen a pair, a male and a female, once in the summer. And then, it was by accident, I just turned my head and my eyes caught on some barely noticeable movement on the top of the tree.
